sted Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 I always struggled to actually activate the skyward sword (having to hold Wiimote in the air, i believe, and it required constant re calibrating of the controls) I'm currently revisiting my old friend FFXIII. i've had it since 2010, and never completed it, started again from scratch last week, the idea being if i complete it (the story) and get a decent way through XIII-2, i'll get FFXV as my day-me-and-OH-got-together anniversary, which is in March. well ive put about an hour into it (just got my loftwing) and i can see the sword swing (and roll) mechanics becoming increasingly annoying but im enjoying it so far just wish i could use a normal controller not have to use a nunchuck in my left hand to move. I also cant see me sitting down and playing it for hours at a time i dont think my arms could take it lol
X-13 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Bought Shovel Knight (about £5 on Amazon) and Ori and the Blind Forest.
CAM Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Back on FFXIV. I spent yesterday evening in the Mist Beach Subdivision running into people's private houses...
Sagima Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) I finished Civ: Beyond Earth (as much as you can with such games) - it's not really as fun as Civs 4, 5 and 6 although saying that I would buy a sequal to it if they could just make it a bit more enjoyable, technically most/all of the bits that make the other civ games fun seem to be there. Now I was going to make a start tomorrow on Ruzar: The Life Stone (another Christmas purchase) but now that Long War 2f or XCOM2 has been released I am almost certainly going back to that. Don't look forward. Look back. https://www.gog.com/game/sid_meiers_alpha_centauri It's because of this I was so excited about Beyond Earth. Was a bit of a let down for me though

DJ-1701 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 I've platinum'd it... Talking of which... when are you next going to stream?
X-13 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Talking of which... when are you next going to stream? At some point. I may start up again in February, after I start getting paid. But we're getting off-topic now. [emoji14]
BKGarry Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 I am so enjoying FFXV at the mo. Clocked up 22 hours. Not liking the city I have just entered. If I wanted to ride boats around Venice I would play tomb raider 2 Still not as efficient at batting as I would like.
NB9457 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Just bought Planet Coaster and I'm loving it! Bought RollerCoaster Tycoon World and that was awful, they've killed the brand completely now, but thank Frontier for Planet Coaster!

Tesla Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 I'm guessing it's more PTSD... Souls games aren't for everyone. [emoji14] Yes, @X-13 is aware of my struggle with Soul games. If I wanted to ride boats around Venice I would play tomb raider 2 Still not as efficient at batting as I would like. 60 Hours in - not even there yet. The sidequests are proving too fun / numerous. I have almost completed FFXIII story, I'm on the last boss. This is good news as it means OH likely to buy me FFXV in March. As mentioned before, still got to get a decent way through XIII-2 too, mind.

Xellpnz Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I've platinum'd it... The chalice dungeon bosses towards the end are brutal. Not even touched them yet. Presume things get worse after Amelia in the church =P Herd the chalice dungeons have some nice loot though? I am so enjoying FFXV at the mo. Clocked up 22 hours. Not liking the city I have just entered. If I wanted to ride boats around Venice I would play tomb raider 2 Still not as efficient at batting as I would like. I brought it originally for the sole reason for my PS4, but still not got around playing 15 yet. Feel like i let down the team since i left SE before that got to our offices =P Just bought Planet Coaster and I'm loving it! Bought RollerCoaster Tycoon World and that was awful, they've killed the brand completely now, but thank Frontier for Planet Coaster! Cant believe they nuffed up RCT........ but PC is darn awesome! seen the workshop stuff?! some of the work people done on there is amazing.
LeMarchand Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I've still got XIII to platinum, XIII-2 to finish and XIII Lightning Returns to start. I've still got to start my play/replay all "main" single player games in order from FFI plan that was hatched around FFIX...
foofighterjim Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 60 Hours in - not even there yet. The sidequests are proving too fun / numerous. Ditto, I actually ploughed through Altissia but then reloaded my save prior to it as I felt I missed out by not exploring it. I've still got XIII to platinum, XIII-2 to finish and XIII Lightning Returns to start. 100% XIII and XIII-2 but never did finish Lightning Returns, I just found the constant race against the clock too annoying for my normal slow pace explore everything approach. On a side note Alice; Madness Returns is now backwards compatible on Xbox One, so that may have to be played again in the near future.
korifugi Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Alice; Madness Returns is now backwards compatible on Xbox One, so that may have to be played again in the near future. Absolutely brilliant game - one of my favourites.
Xellpnz Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Absolutely brilliant game - one of my favourites. Nothing better than a grim dark version of something happy and cheery right? =P
sted Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 100% XIII and XIII-2 but never did finish Lightning Returns, I just found the constant race against the clock too annoying for my normal slow pace explore everything approach. i tried to get into lightning returns over xmas (bought it a while back for £6 shame its not a back compat title) and after about 2 hours id had enough ff13 1/2 i have completed and i remember enjoying but i couldnt give you any more info about the games than that (same as im not sure if i ever played ff9/10 bits look familiar but i might just of seen those vids / screens before)
