I pre-ordered Watch Dogs 2 for my PC the other day. I know some people frown upon pre-ordering games, but it was 20% off on Green Man Gaming, and I'm quite looking forward to playing it. I enjoyed Watch Dogs the first, despite its mixed reviews.

ive got very mixed feeling on preordering games (and yes im a total sucker for some games i had forza horizons 3 preordered months before release) On the one hand it means you can play it on launch day without a huge download (i remember forza horizons 6 12+hours and wasted a day off lol couldnt pre-order as the code came with the forza version of the console) but it does mean im effectively giving money for a game thats not complete and could be almost unplayable funding more of the same as most game sales are in the first 2 weeks or so after launch iirc.

Basically every single review I've seen so far says the game is so much more enjoyable if you play with a non-lethal mindset, and whilst I haven't played WD 1 or 2, I have to agree with it on principle. In Watch_Dogs Aiden Pearce was a brooding, revenge-driven typical antihero so him shooting people in the face made sense, but in Watch_Dogs 2, Dedsec are portrayed as a robin-hood band of kids.. A bunch of tech-savvy teenagers with blue-sky ideas about taking down the corrupt corporations etc. Shooting people in the face doesn't feel right for them.

from what ive seen it looks fun but im not sure how long that will last esp if missions get repetative. i think i may pick it up in a few months if its on sale

I'm a sucker for open world games, so I'll find myself just wandering around, much like I do in GTA 5 or in the first Watch Dogs. :)

And I like that there's more of a focus on the non-lethal combat. From what I remember in Watch Dogs 1, it was practically non-existent.

Picked up the Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 Deluxe bundle in the Xbox Black friday Sale, looking forward to finding some time to play both, Titanfall 2 more than BF1 if I'm honest.

I pre-order very, very little these days.

The only games I've pre-ordered this year are Pokémon Moon because I trust Nintendo enough to not release a buggy, unplayable game on release day, and Need to Know, which wasn't technically a pre-order as I backed it on Kickstarter, but I still consider it a pre-order in principle. Thanks to review embargos I refuse to preorder basically anything AAA these days.

WD2 has no enforcement of non-lethal playstyle, you're perfectly capable of shooting as many dudes in the noggin as your ammunition count will allow for, and there's no punishment for doing so (You'd think all those people downloading your app and supporting Dedsec might question the trail of bodies left in your wake, but no, apparently not?!) but you do get an infinite-ammo stun gun and ways to cause distractions to lure guards away, so the general census I've seen from multiple reviewers is it's much more rewarding to play non-lethal.

yeah ive got pokemon sun preordered and whats really hacking me off is its installed on my 3ds but nintendo europe is making us wait till wednesday for it for some reason while pretty much everyone else got it last friday grrr.

i dont really trust reviews anymore that much anyway realistically its a series game (so like forza horizons(though im rethinking that 3 was less fun than 2) and im going to a buy it asap (and if digital is no more expensive or i think physical copies are going to be hard to get hold of) i will preorder (or if theres some bonus content i want) or its a series game that i want but am willing to wait for (tomb raider for example) to be on sale.

Unknown stuff generally i see if i can find a letsplay from someone whos opinion meshes with mine on that type of game again not 100% ive bought games that looked fun but dont have enough to keep me going back to them.

Looked through the exclusives and it has more I'm interested in.

Mine should arrive tomorrow. It was dispatched yesterday, I was hoping I could cheese it and have Amazon deliver it today, alas, no such luck.

On that point... WHY IS IT NOT FIRE/FIGHTING?! It'd actually make sense this time.

i suspect because the last few have been iirc (bear in mind ive only played r/b/y/g/s/b/w) so they made it dark even though by looking at it you can see its designed as a wwe character

It's not just me that thinks the first island is a boring drag is it?

Rather than being allowed to explore for myself, the avatar is pretty much dragged/pushed around to the next scene by the companions.

Or maybe I'm remembering my previous Pokey experiences wrong.

Just got Farming Simulator 17. Might sound sad but its a great game. Not massively different to 15 but there are a lot of nice little touches that make it worth buying even if you do have 15.

You're not wrong, it is a great game. The new mission system is a huge improvement, and adds some interest to the game. Although ploughing sucks.
