We've got a few generic bits...Server updates, maintenance. Maintenance of the IT Suites, try and clear out a few of the longer standing jobs on the job list. Main job, I think, is going to be trying to tidy the main comms room. The place is a jungle. So in preparation for our summer work, I'm going to test each point, label, and then remove any points that are no longer required....if I get that room finished, then I'll try and do some of the other cabs as well.

That one on Amazon is sold by MrPCClean the same supplier I linked to above. Same price too including delivery.

Apart from the fact that Amazon don't get their grubby little mitts on a cut if you buy direct. Cleaning PCs will be a job for after Easter, though.

Just had a thought. Are most of your schools finishing today? We don't finish until next Thursday.

I'm finishing......NOW! Bye.... *footsteps* *door slams* *car engine* *screech of tyres*

I have two weeks off to mark coursework. I am in a few days for revision sessions.

However I will be doing something that is more stressful than any technical work. My wife and I are taking our 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl to EuroDisney on a coach. :-) Wahey. Ordered a massive pot of Kalms for the bus. :-)

Whatever you are all doing - I hope you all enjoy your Easter break.

Moving to the new in house phone system we've just finished testing and configuring. Total cost so far just under £200! Managed to reuse existing phones and have an Asterisk install up and running with some SIP trunks - just need to go around and switch all the phones over.

Completed the emergency services testing today which was the final part so it's looking good so far.

Hoping to get sccm fully setup, move from vipre to ms endpoint protection, deploy office 2013, o365 as well as General server maintenance etc

Also going to move our ip range from 147.x.x.x to something sensible... it's been on the cards since I started but never got round to it. Would love to know who thought it'd be a good idea to ignore standards entirely :/

Only in the first week. But got a few things to do.

Sort sen laptops out. ( They got 4 new ones to replace netbooks)

New asset management register. (Going round putting stickers on things and checking our s/n's)

Install 2 NUCs in the classroom.

2 new switchs in the library and sever room.

Think that's all I gotta do.

The Ginger Pig, if I recall. The free lunch provided at The Pheasant when I was down there in January for a W8 course was good though, although I might try the Pig if I fancy a change sometime. I've still got a week of AD/GP training to do at some point.

I've also booked an extra night at the B&B so I don't have to take my dog to the training centre on the last day. (I can't believe I was so stupid last time!)

You took your dog??!

You took your dog??!

Er...ahem...yep!

I managed to find a dog friendly B&B nearby and they said it was OK to leave her in the room while I was out on the course. That was great because it meant I didn't have to try to find someone to look after her while I was away for the two nights. So, I drive down to Worcester the night before and check into the B&B.

The next morning, as I'm getting ready to leave to start my training, I remember that I need to remind the owner not to bother 'refreshing' the room, as the dog was in there and she may not take kindly to someone she doesn't know coming in. Only then does it hit me... I'd only booked the B&B for 2 nights and I needed to check-out the next morning. What was I going to do with Jess?

I sheepishly asked Alan if he'd mind if she came along the next day and he very kindly agreed. Give her her due, she's really well behaved and just sat under the desk all day, but I know she shouldn't have been there. This time, however, I've booked a room in the B&B for the Friday night so she can stay there and I can drive home at my leisure on the Saturday.

Installing 22 new touch panels for classrooms and a new wifi installation across the site with new cabling and around 60 aps, new vlans and hopefully radius integration. Along with renaming a vast number of pcs so their name relates to their location.
