  1. Showpoint here too - Staff love it.
  2. We had our first GDPR working party meeting on Tuesday, there were reps from IT, Payroll, Admin, SIMS and the Business Manager. Next task is to do a data flow!
  3. I've set my Fitbit to 11500 steps target, I make sure I check the furthest away rooms every day (It can be 400 steps from one end of the school to another) - plus we are a split site, so walking between sites adds 800 steps each way. I find a good target is to aim for 1000 steps per hour from 9:00 - 21:00 I'm averaging 14000 a day, which I think is ok.
  4. It used to be Sony Vegas, Magix acquired it last year.
  5. Need an Ice cream now - wonder when the van will turn up outside......
  6. Sorry, should've said, the limit is for the printers in the ICT rooms, the staffroom devices don't have limits.
  7. We have the rules as follows: No more than 3 copies, no reprints within 2 minutes, no printing documents with filename document1 etc (this forces them to save their work - helps prevent printing and not saving, then needing it again!). I also have a script that pops up if the document is over 15 pages asking are you sure you want to print this (or similar).
  8. Plays ok here! (Schools Broadband with Lightspeed)
  9. Yep, I get the same here, bloody annoying!
  10. On the other hand, I bet you were really pleased that you did find them! Before the place burned down.
  11. Sod that! Full english (without Black Pudding) for me, or on a work day, toast (with real butter and Marmite (well, generic yeast extract)).

  13. We thought we had seen the last of those! Until we cracked open a DT machine and there it was, plugged into a 60GB drive! No wonder it was running a bit slow.

    Storm Doris

We've closed both fields due to flying branches, caretakers fence has vanished and we've moved cars away from some very wobbly trees (sod's law says they'll be hit by a roof tile now though!).
  15. Is it space age?
  16. is it a ZX80?
  17. Tomytronic (?) 3d, my sister had one of those!
  18. I installed Netgear ARLO cameras for my parents, very simple, wireless and battery powered, free (limited) cloud storage, nice app to configure them. I wouldn't say they were super small, but they aren't huge.
  19. One Drive or Google Docs should both do this.
  20. It's an app that parents can install, it allows free 2 way messaging, it also links to their children to show attendance data, achievements and timetables. It also allows for things like staff contact details, links to online payments, contact details, term dates etc. It's pretty good really (apart from the data import and niggles mentioned earlier). We have over 220 parents using it, which considering it launched in November isn't too bad.
  21. The SIMS export works perfectly, the import I am talking about is for the My Ed App.
  22. Main bugs for me are the import into the app - not clear at all what columns of a CSV are required, even using the supplies templates doesn't seem to go smoothly. And, the biggest annoyance for me is that it adds seemingly random characters into imports to the app, for example in our term dates, it says "31 OctoberÂÂ2016" I clear the wrong characters, now that date is ok, but another date changes from what was correct to "17 AprilÂÂ2017"
  23. It is web based, so staff can log in from anywhere. We use it here, switched from Schoolcomms a few months ago, quite like it. It has it's niggles, but then so do most systems.
