Roberto Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I have my doubts, not sure if I'll watch the new TG, but it's great that there will be more choice and a bit of a shakeup around what's available. Both TG (for all my doubts) and that new Amazon show have the potential to be good. We can wait and see and try both on for size.

If this was really about justice, shouldn't Clarkson have been given community service or less? For that amount of money perhaps he can call me an English Beep and punch me in the face.

I think that the suggestion is that the area surrounding the Cenotaph is for quiet contemplation. However if that is the case how far is far enough away to be respectful? And on which days? Also: It's a city. Cities are, typically, busy and noisy.

However that Cenotaph is also located in the middle of the road so on a normal day you wouldn't class it as being for quiet contemplation.

The direct complaint is that is disrespects the war dead. No one has said anything about quiet contemplation or the people that might want to visit the cenotaph. I just don't see how it is disrespectful. Graffiti or the like yes, but spinning a car around at a fair distance away, whilst moronic, is not disrespectful.

Do all people have to bow their heads and treat the dead with silence and sorrow? Is it not a better sign of respect to live life to its fullest, in honour of the great sacrifice made by those who died?
BassTech Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Just in-case you don't know what a doughnut is, the BBC has you covered: Doughnuts - which have previously been performed many times on Top Gear - usually involve rotating the rear of a car around the front, a technique caused by making the rear wheels of a car spin more quickly than the front set. They often leave circular skid marks on the road and sometimes cause smoke to emit from tyres due to friction. Glad they cleared that up!
