  1. StationERY!
  2. https://www.classroombookings.com/
  3. Very much so. Did you see the slating that one of the Apprentice candidates got on last week's interview show for completely inappropriate posts and pics?
  4. I read the article and wondered if it meant that people were just posting less status updates and check-ins. Social media gets a bad press these days but I still frequently use it for all the nerdy groups and pages I'm in (fellow owners of my car, old maps, bridge of the day, brick collecting and so on). It's far superior than having lots of different forums and the hassle of registering and signing into each one, and no doubt heavily contributed to the almost death of forums. I think if you stay away from politics, religion and the local busybody groups, it's still a perfectly good (and free) platform.
  5. Still using it here. Had a brand new deployment server built by @VirtueTechnologies_Nick to deploy Windows 11. Simple, quick, familiar and effective.

  7. I keep ours for two years after they've left. Should be long enough for them to lodge any appeal about a final grade. I 7ZIP the year group and archive off the main file server so its not still being backed up.
  8. I remove the tray icon and disable hotkeys and the intel right-click menu option with a registry hack. Something like this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\Display\igfxcui\igfxtray] "ShowOptimalBalloon"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\Display\igfxcui\igfxtray\TrayIcon] "ShowTrayIcon"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Intel\Display\igfxcui\HotKeys] "Enable"=dword:00000000 [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxcui] [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Sharing] [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxDTCM]

  10. Christmas time = DVD fortnight!
  11. Ad now posted: https://www.huttongrammar.org/vacancies/support-staff-vacancies/ And there's absolutely no movement on salary
  12. Any movement on the salary? I'm just down the road in Southport with years of IT management, but that salary isn't great. I suppose it would be ok for a tech moving into their first NM post. But an extra £5k would get them some top notch candidates.
  13. Just a heads up for anyone who uses the free Solarwinds User Import Tool for creating new starters. For the past few weeks there's been an issue with the software crashing on start-up. As of yet there's no fix. There's a thread on the Solarwinds support community board here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/free-tools-trials/f/admin-bundle-for-active-directory/95976/cannot-launch-user-import-tool-error-crashes-the-app/
