Will not watch it without Clarkson, the BBC will effectively kill Top Gear.

Still though when the trio move to a new program on Sky with a bigger budget I will watch that. :)

Certainly won't be watching it if Chris Evans is a presenter, as it is when repeats are on featuring him in Star in the reasonably priced car I switch it over.

Well speaking of repeats, you can always watch Clarkson on Dave :p

ChrisEvans was the first replacement I thought of - but it would be very different

But then maybe it needs to change - it may be better

After all - I never thought he could replace Terry Wogan!

Not a fan of Evans, never was.

I know he is a pure petrol head but I am not a fan of his. I will see how the show goes without Clarkson but I don't see Hammond/May being the same with Evans. With that partnership no longer the same I get the feeling I wont enjoy the show as much. When they have their big episodes the way Clarkson reacts to things is exactly how I sometimes react its bits like that which add real entertainment for me.

Still nothing is official just yet. I suspect this could be my last Top Gear season I make an effort to watch.

Does anyone know if they have already recorded the last episodes of the season with Clarkson in it? Will this be broadcast even though he's being sacked?

I am not keen on Chris Evans, I'll give it a go but can't see myself enjoying it as much as the perfect trio, I also can't see May and Hammond sticking around. I remember when May went to Chris' house to look at his car collection and that felt awkward and weird then. I don't like the bloke but you have to try everything once.

Steve coogan came out with some heavy criticism of top gear a few years ago. Doubt he'd want the seat

Maybe he'd consider it a challenge to reform Top Gear and fix the things he criticised?

I think they possibly have as the BBC said they have pulled the episodes, but at the same time they may not have done.

They generally would of had all the out of studio/track bits done a few months back. Star in a car and probably hot laps etc are all done in the week leading upto it.

BBC definitely pulled the episodes, I was supposed to be at the recording...

Newspapers are saying today he will be sacked. Clarkson on Twitter says he hasnt heard a thing.

From that article...

Meanwhile Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, who has been touted as a potential replacement for Clarkson, has ruled himself out of the running.

"Not only is it not true, it's absolute nonsense," he told listeners on Wednesday morning.

"From what I've seen on Twitter and various social media, there's a 50/50 split approximately as to whether me being involved in the show is a good idea.

"In TV or radio, if you get a 50/50 love/hate reaction that usually equals massive hit. I used to work for [ratings body] Barb and knock on people's doors and this was the rule of thumb.

"However, I'm in the no camp. So regardless of whether it would be a hit, I'm voting a no for myself on that show, so that's never going happen.

"And that's the end of that."

Nope. The bit in the studio is filmed on Wednesdays I believe.

I reckon so once they have hired the new presenter(s).

I also can't see May and Hammond sticking around.

Their contracts are up for renewal next week. I doubt they will stick around without Clarkson.

James May and Richard Hammond refuse to film Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkson

I guessed that was the case, although a ballsy move considering both of them have been forging pretty decent hosting careers with the Beeb outside of Top Gear. Jeremy on the other hand as been relegated to DVD Christmas specials for a while now.

My guess, if Jeremy is sacked, they'll both agree to remain with Top Gear rather than risk jeopardizing their other works with the Beeb.

I don't think either of them are particularly bothered about working for the BBC over another company, they have plenty of money and are very popular personalities. It's not like they will find themselves unable to get jobs.

Guy Martin would be my choice, but it'd involve breaking the Top Gear formula down into something more serious which risks it's current success. I can't see him being mean and controversial enough to be a new Jeremy Clarkson.

Guy Martin would be good! Its probably going to change anyway.

I find it funny how BBC news is tripping over its own feet reporting the whole thing, they don't even know within the same organisation whats going on so what chance do we have?
