Pretty much all HP here for switching with Extreme/Aerohive for wireless. Anyone had any experience with the Extreme switching? currently looking at replacing either wireless or switching and at the moment Meraki is the favourite followed by UniFi. We looked at Fortinet for both switching and wireless but then you are locked into their ecosystem.

The silent install isn't the issue is the fact that for shared computers the resources folder is writable and students will simply overwrite each other's settings

Did you manage to deploy keyshot? we have had no end of issues with it! any pointers?

@bicky can you detail what you did in advanced installer to make it work? also did you manage to package it with the trial version or did you have to buy the full version?

I just purchased an 09 Chausson motorhome. As after years of searching it seemed the best option as it gives so much more internal space so is better for long periods on the road. its still only 6.5m long but i can stand up inside and I'm 6 foot 3

Yeh we only got the keys in June so its been a mad dash to get everything ready for the start of term. I can only hope I don't have to do this again anytime soon

Moved entire school from 2 buildings to 1. New IWBs in all teaching rooms, new firewalls, new APs and wireless controller, Salto door entry system on most doors and new AV system in main hall. The joys of being a solo tech. Tired now

Got a Fenix 3 HR that i got second hand maybe 3/4 years ago its done me pretty well. Its starting to show its age now (its probably nearly 7 years old) as the battery isn't as reliable and the altitude sensor is all over the place but i guess its what happens with older technology.

I think id use it to have a good excuse to finally sort out my home office as then it have a good reason to do so

Yeh i have a feeling its going to need to be lead by a change in staff teaching culture. But hopefully with the right tools it will be adopted and used widely.

Ok so its looking like the vision for the future of the school is currently to look to move towards a paperless classroom. How many of you guys have done this successfully? and what does it look like? Do you issue students devices? do you use One Note or have you used other software for this? Your thoughts please

Sadly looking at G Suit you now have to pay a subscription for its MDM service unless you already have the legacy software.

Looking at getting a bunch of devices for our science department (have already ruled out kindles as they don't allow easy lockdown or management for the sort of thing we need). So I'm looking at cheap android devices (around £65 per device) and some form of free MDM to set them up and make the system as future proof as possible. Any ideas?

Do you still have the issue with SMART that you have to buy a license per user ? because if you were going forward with SMART that would be a factor.
