Tesla Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Hi all Just come back from holidays to find there has been an office swap between two assistant heads, during this time, one of them uncovered three unopened keyboards, they looke dfairly old, but upon opening, they are positively ancient, the install for the drivers is on a 3 1/2 inch floppy! Now i am wondering, what's the oldest stuff you've managed to uncover in your work places? i have a couple of golden oldies i have also uncovered that i will share in due course. fairm010 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 The other day I was doing an archive of some old data before I migrate to my new storage and found some photographs of the school from 1986! They looked like they had been taken, developed, photocopied, scanned, printed, used for 10 years, scanned in again then stuck into the shared area about 4 years ago.

NikChillin Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 We found this on the top of a cupboard a few years ago, it still works too although only text based, no GUI. Th last time it was used was 1998.
Gaz Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 We've still got 2 - 486's and some keyboards that have DIN connectors. I've never powered them up but they were used to drive a wind tunnel and I believe they still work.

Nibiru Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 We have a few BBC micros lying around in cupboards somewhere. No monitors - I dumped those long long ago. Most of the BBC's I found lying around were scrapped 10 years ago, but a few got missed. When I started here there were a huge pile of RM Nimbus base units in store. For what reason I have no idea as they were only collecting dust their network having been dismantled years before.

Boredguy Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I know we still have a BBC Micro tucked away above a cleaners cupboard, but never remember to dig it out when sending stuff for recycling. No point in us keeping it since the monitors and drives went out 15 years ago.
