Sure I posted this but the topic seems to have disappeared. I want to purchase a AC-PRO for home and use the Guest feature, can I separate the network or do I need a router to do this? Not had hands on this kit to try it.

I used powershell script before but I'm sure you can set a connector up on Office 365 that allows this to work without the need for doing the permissions. I was looking into it but never did get any further.

Yes I forgot about that, I've been on a Virgin connection for 4+ years due to the BT offerings been so poor in town compared to the village I used to be.

On the topic of how much bandwith I use, when I was at home and there were 3 of us using it, I was surprised how little we did use and I thought I was really heavy. PlusNet had a tool that allowed you to see your usage graph.

I use to map mine via script so always set it to delete all drives before mapping new ones. It's a good point, maybe on your default user policy set it to delete all before applying new ones?

I was with/Dad is still with PlusNet since moving to them in dialup days. Cannot fault them one bit, best ISP I have dealt with, only other one I'd possibly consider via a BT line would be ZEN. He's on an ADSL package and as its an exchange online line when it was sorted for FTTC the speed difference wasn't worth it for him but he's pulling a good 20Mb down. The few faults with the line they have always sorted and never been waiting long, had refund for services when its been down (now I know we can claim it!). I'd be tempted to go back to them if and when BT sort out FTTC here, currently on Virgin but I'd be tempted to drop the speed for customer service if I am honest.

I've never heard of Splicecom but Mitel I have and never heard anything bad about them. They do good kit from what experience I have had although limited seen some large deployments in 999 centres. For me Avaya and Mitel are up there at the top for me. Grandstream do some nice handsets too, was surprised when a friend of mine was doing a freePBX rollout for one of his customers. Over hosted or on premises, I'd be looking if internet connection can support to go hosted, especially if you have remote sites or looking to join up with other schools.

Around here we have a lot of wireless internet and Ubiquiti kit is used in a lot of instances with good results but you need that sight for reliability.

I don't find the Draytek kit very friendly, might be stable but its not easy to follow I don't find. I'd put in pfSense and use that, should be able to achieve what you want quite easily.

Blanking plates, I tend to use Excel or MK, I think the Excel blanking plates did fit the MK but don't quote me on it, it was a few years ago. But Comms Express is best place.

I'm QNAP here at home and I've been looking at getting another one and the Synology seems to equal as fair from what I've seen although I'm yet to see one in the flesh. Price was the only difference between them from what I can remember when I last looked.

You would normally have a primary employing trust and as a rule you would use that one, well that is how we did it. We only had 1 or 2 out of say 5000 users and those who were GP and Primary Care staff kept their display name as the GP one.

NHS.net is all done from web admin type pages, there is/was no access to any back end bits of it and getting changes done were nearly impossible. An NHS.net address was there to follow you around the NHS so what you need to happen is the account would need to be marked as a leaver from 1 place and marked as a joiner at the other. The only other way would be to create a second account but defeats the object of NHS fail. More and more trusts are moving away from local exchange to this which is part of the PSN too so its secure. There was talks of it been O365 based with NHSMail 2 but I'm not sure on the status of it. Think Vodafone currently have the contract for it so couldn't tell you.

I like luxury in life, so shower and toilet facilities is key for me if I do it. Just not sure its for me, I like the idea of been able to disappear and not cost anything but fuel but facilities have to be there for me.

A few friends of mine have vans, one converted an old VW builders van, other has just bought a new big motor home (retirement this September), it's something I've looked at for travelling, saves money too, thing that puts me off it toilet/shower facilities! Wow fire waiting to happen there. The extension lead only has a 10A fuse in too. Just because it has 2 sockets it doesn't mean use 2 sockets, you need to add up the AMP plugged in and in this case you will be totally overloading the lot. The PDU's should be plugged into their own sockets, if there isnt any near by you then need some fitting. Just to let you know if you have a fire involving all that, fire investigation will be able to tell extension leads were in use from what is left and your insurance will be null and void. Same goes with coiled extension leads.

I have been from Portsmouth/Southsea, Southampton and Lymington, last time was Southampton on fastcat as passenger for about £15 return. No need to take car just jump on the bus the other end keep costs down. We stripped out all our fax lines when we was in the NHS, cost is a fortune for what little use they did get. Hospital trusts are biggest users of them, you try getting a Dr to change their way of working!

May or may not be of use but I understood you could install Mac OS in a virtual environment now and run it as a typical mac server giving you that redundancy if you have it.

None school device = not on school network. Could be used on BYOD if you have one. Weather senior or not all users to be treated the same, once he has his own connected everyone will want their own!

There are others but I wouldn't recommend anything other than PaperCut. PaperCut is the only product that is been actively developed and was built around education, it just works.
