What external access does the server require?

Do agree with this too, found our after killing 2 or 3. Current one is a Fellows DS-700C and has had a hammering and still going well. Your supposed to oil it every time you empty but speaking to someone at Fellows they said you can cover a sheet of A4 in sunflower oil and feed that through and does just as good job albeit a bit messy. Mine accepts credit cards too so can shred the old ones up.

It would appear deleting them lines out the config fixes it enough to do what I need. There is some conflict with a piece of software but cannot for the life of me work out what it is. Spent a few hours on it today with a colleague going around in circles but we got there in the end.

Any suggestions?

Either earlier this year or last I was watching a TV series but forgot the name. What reminded me was I caught a bit of Elementary the other night and reminded me of the similar programme I used to watch, any ideas what it was I was watching. I will know it when I see a clip, it was a series that was on TV, normal basic channels you get on Sky/Virgin. Any suggestions as my memory is shocking when it comes to things like this. Thanks

Not specifically 2012 issue but have got it happening. Has anyone ever come across this error from a web based application running on their server, only similarity I have is some are SIMS servers others not. Not sure where to go with it at the moment. I've only ever know this feature to be available on phone systems with the handsets supplied by said supplier. Most VoIP handsets seem to have this but standard BT phones don't that I'm ever aware of.

No snow here in Northern Lincolnshire since 30th November. Can stay that way for me, although bitterly cold out today, no frost (well not when I went out) roads are dry so if it did want to snow overnight it would settle now.

If a fire is bigger than a waste paper basket in size an extinguisher is no good. If you want protection then a suppression based system is what you need. A handheld extinguisher is there to allow you to exit an area safely and tackle a small fire. Unless you have been trained to use one you could make a fire worse, better to close the door, raise the alarm and get out.

Right had a chat tonight and here are the recommendations, there is no legislation that covers things, what you have depends on how critical your kit is. A CO2 fire suppression system is what you want in an ideal world but this one comes down to cost. Next option is to have CO2 extinguisher outside the server room but at hand to the door of it. The next best thing is a new type of extinguisher, a water mist which is safe to use in such situation. In due course as extinguishers need replacing at their 10 year old spot these will generally be the replacement. Details found here. Safe to use on electrical and won't create as much mess as CO2 does with the residue left over. Hope this helps, any questions feel free to ask.

Do you have the windows firewall enabled on your server? Also do you have the anti virus exceptions in for PCounter?

I will try and get a proper recommendation regarding this by next week. Suppression system is what I would recommend as your always taught to not put water on electrics (got my refresher in fire extinguishers next week!), don't think there is any hard and fast rights/wrongs regarding this.

You need backing from SLT, you need evidence and you need to be ruthless. MFD's and no desktop, print management solution i.e. PaperCut, create departmental budgets and assign members to them, responsibility of departmental head to manage their staff who are abusing it (send them a report once a week), if more credit required either comes from other area in that departments budget or they have to beg the Head for more. Create reports, set mono/duplex as default, train staff in better use to reduce printing. Some users have valid reasons to print but you need to ask why and educate. Sometimes it might be a case they didn't know. PaperCut will help you do all these, even in small steps by first just monitoring then Joe Bloggs can't get away with saying I only print once in a while which turns out to be 500 pages ever hour!

If you have PaperCut you could add a script to said printer that checks IP of client is in allowed range, probably could do it based on name too, any other jobs delete.

Smartcard or proximity fob to login, SSO also setup, user removes fob to gain access on door, PC auto locks. Smartcard similar idea, but can set pin number, get them to set same as bank card will never forget! Just options, not cheap but resolves some issues.

I had issues when I set my personal one up when I moved to 123 reg, there was an option in the O365 admin console to use a different way to add the domain which skipped the skype and just added in MX record, 2 or 3 text, a SPF record and 2 CNAMES that seems to have disappeared but it let me continue with no errors.
