  1. Looks like they are the latest big name to go into administration.
  2. On your Microserver where do you run FreeNAS from? Do you put in a separate drive or use USB?
  3. I used QNAP at home but I'd go for either Synology or QNAP, I am after another 4 bay to go with the one I have then I can get rid of the 1 bay one.
  4. WTF!! I have used mapped drives on site to site links of varying speed from 2Mb with 40 users on to 500Mb connections all with no issues for years. Yes when connections are slow it does take a while to open and close but most have over 10Mb these days. What planet is your contractor on?
  5. Forgot to update this, apparently it comes back via a Mac forum as a Morphie cable. Was asking for a friend as it wasn't a logo I recognised.
  6. As you are using PaperCut enable the integrated scanning within devices on the PaperCut console and you can also scan straight to your home areas depending how you have it setup as well as as using the native function with Sharp. Depending how you have it setup you may need to add in an application UI to give you the icon, the path would be: http://server:9191/device/sharp_osa3/ui/scanApp.jsp and then put an icon on the front screen (nice icon is located on [papercut-install-path]/providers/hardware/sharp/scan-app.png). Any queries drop me a line.
  7. Job ticketing is an additional license just so that you are aware.
  8. Does anyone recognise the logo on this USB cable?
  9. I would always use a VPN solution and then you can ensure everything is on the network and backed up.
  10. I'd restrict users from printing at home, if they need to print they can send it to a printer within school i.e. follow me print and its ready for when they come into school and if using the likes of PaperCut you know exactly what has been printed by who and where.
  11. I'll stick to my local butcher, all locally sourced meat and cheaper and more tastier
  12. My local KFC & Taco Bell are both closed today, plus various KFC's north of the river too.
  13. Does anyone else get issues where there is a notification for a post via the app but only in the morning? When I come to my phone first thing in the morning I often have a notification for a random thread on my phone, one that I generally haven't posted in. Any suggestions?
  14. B4RN 1GB to the home, fibre laid themselves.
  15. Will do, on my list to sort need to have a look and see what is out there.
  16. Some food for thought there. That system looks good value for money Dave, can it be spec'd up for 16Gb, 240GB SSD, loose the 500GB? Also would i be able ot buy this for home? - - - Updated - - - Had a play with the part picker site, end up spending a fortune I don't have.
  17. Please move to another area if it is better suited. Look to scope out a new PC at home, nothing too fancy, just going to buy something prebuilt but any suggestions on best place these days? Looking for i5/i7 or AMD equivalent (out of touch with AMD stuff), SSD 200GB+ possible RAID if its worth it, at least 2 HDMI ports on graphics card with a view to having a 3 monitor setup. Historically I have used Overclockers but prices have all shot up. Just after a low profile type PC if I can, mainly used as an office type PC with a bit of photo editing. Any suggestions, obviously the more silent the better
  18. I'd never upgrade, I would always build a fresh and migrate over. Always been taught to never upgrade a OS.
  19. What does your CCTV policy say?
  20. Thanks will have a look at that guide later.
  21. Any idea what type you have? If its analogue it might have a digital bit and you might be able to buy a device more suited to the system other than that the Polycom spider phone might be best. Not bought one for years so not sure what else to check for.
  22. I keep reading conflicting information on this and want to know if anyone has successfully achieved it. I have a shared mailbox within O365, I can create a profile in Outlook so that only that mailbox opens ok, for user details I use mine. So with that theory tested I want to add the shared mailbox to my phone, I read various articles online that say you can do it but I cannot get it working, has anyone achieved this? I don't want to convert the mailbox to a standard user and do it that way as I will have to license another user where the way I have it work except I cannot get the mail on the go. Any advise on this one? Thank
  23. I do believe that Polycom soundstation has the features of been able to accept an analogue connection, you can buy these second hand for a reasonable price.
  24. What phone system are you currently using? Is it just a BT line with a phone plugged in or do you have a PABX?
