  1. Thanks for that. I think the 888's are going to be the way forward, I have a cable and chirp already, been re configuring one of the others today. If you have a file already setup a copy would be grand. In an ideal world Motorola would be my go to for radio but for this project these will do. Just need something for an event here and there and have no funds as such. At least with this is will be easy to add more to without massive expense and not worry if they get lost/damaged.
  2. I was going to go down the Baofeng route as I already have one of these programmed for another purpose. I've got the frequencies so was going to either get some more of these (which I already have) or order this lot. Several radio places online have advised against them but for what use I want I think they will be perfect. The second lot as linked here cannot make out weather they are on PMR or will need these frequencies setting in. I've got the cable and software so might just do that. You mention CTCSS what is that, not something I am up with really.
  3. Can you not create a VPN connection in and RDP in?
  4. Thanks. Might have to go to plan B, bit more than I was expecting and having budget for for the use they will get. Have enquired about hire locally, at most they are only ever going to be used for an odd day here and there.
  5. In need of a set of the above for next week, any recommendations for somewhere online for a set of license free (PMR) ones. Ideally looking for Motorola handhelds not the smaller cheaper ones but the more commercial looking ones. Thanks
  6. There isn't a profile specified within AD is there?
  7. Local EPOS place to here used to supply blank cards for Paxton systems, they were just mifare cards (not sure of exact details) but they worked and were far cheaper. I have in the past picked some up on eBay but it has been hit and miss.
  8. That will give you the IP of the server not the client.
  9. Have you created a second copy of the printer and see if that causes an issue? Any maintenance messages of the MFD as some have some that can cause print issues. Try disabling SNMP on the printer port.
  10. What print management software are you using?
  11. Theme Hospital? SIMS?
  12. I use either Microsoft Outlook or for Thunderbird as a mail client, Mail is a shocking product. Easier to backup Thunderbird profile too though.
  13. When you say they need to be computerised do you just mean about the submission of their returns? My Dad retired a few years ago and the only thing he used a computer for was creating invoices in a excel template I created when his electronic typewriter died. All the books were kept manually and they didn't have the internet in their portacabin office. So he logged in online to the tool the HMRC provided and put the figures in and submitted it that way and that was the only electronic system they used. I suspect it will be just that the submission side of things, if you look at QuickBooks or Sage both of which are online and can be used on tablets they only generate the figures that you put into the system at the end of it as far as I am aware. If he uses an accountant many of them will do this for them and he can carry on as he is.
  14. Is your email account setup as an Exchange mailbox or as POP/IMAP? I suspect this could be where you are going wrong, might need to recreate the profile as an Exchange one.
  15. Other option could be stick a normal analogue phone in with an ATA back in the comms room? Might find more choice and cheaper to replace handset if needed.
  16. Thanks, will have a look. No plan on overclocking. PSU is only 600W, might even salvage this one in my current PC and cases I have spare cases everywhere. What about monitors, any thoughts on them?
  17. Just been having a look around, thoughts on this build?
  18. Do you have any proxy settings specified in your browser, you may need to add an exception it to get to your controller.
  19. Thanks. Not that much changed since I last built except cost then! AMD what range should I be looking at say equivalent to i5. It's years since I've built a PC but think its going to be cheaper than pre built from the likes of Overclockers. - - - Updated - - - Thanks. 20. Looking at this again as I need to replace Current spec is i5 4570 at 3.2Ghz, 8GB Ram, GTX 750Ti, 2 Samsung 24" monitors on a Gigabyte board and a modular PSU. Looking for i5/i7 or it it worth look at AMD now, 16GB Ram, GTX 1060 for graphics probably, monitors looking to get 2 matching ones maybe a 3rd either 24" or 27" (any recommendations) and what brand boards to look for. Also cooling is liquid still the best? I do a lot of photo editing work plus lot of data work during the day so need something with some go in it. - - - Updated - - - Looking at this again as I need to replace Current spec is i5 4570 at 3.2Ghz, 8GB Ram, GTX 750Ti, 2 Samsung 24" monitors on a Gigabyte board and a modular PSU. 21. TeamView, use it for phone and tablet support, its not like your using it but you can do most things I find.
  22. That time of year already!
  23. Do you have a remote access solution already in place for users from home? Could they just not login at the school and login to this and access what they need?
  24. Come 6pm in Northern Lincolnshire its rained and got a storm. Still raining now which is nice, lots of lightening, caused some problems north of me, a few trees down, bit of flooding in places. Cooled it right down and doing my garden good!
  25. Who's Amazon account is it going to be linked to? Can see a kid telling it to order something and then the teacher kicking off! Simple answer no.
