Hi @Bromcom_John - I'm missing a step here. Where to teachers note which comment to give?
-
Afternoon @Bromcom_Alastair - We've managed to create marksheets and put comments in our comment bank (in my subject as a trial). However - I cannot find any instruction on how to create a place to enter comment banks to create reports (which then get web merged in). Can you find me a link that talks about using comment banks? (not creating them)

They are. We've just migrated from SIMS to Bromcom and will possibly be bringing our use of ClassCharts to an end once the contract finished. I am pushing to move before that. I'm fed up of it not syncing or having weird issues (such as -1 minute per lesson).
-
Morning all, We are seeing a strange issue where the timetable in ClassCharts looses a minute per lesson. In Bromcom we have our periods setup - so for example: Lesson 1 : 9:00am - 9:50am Lesson 2: 9:50am - 10:40am Lessons are then in 50 minute chunks. It's set and everything is ok in Bromcom. The sync is performed by Wonde. When we look at ClassCharts we see: Lesson 1: 9:00am - 9:49am Lesson 2: 9:50am - 10:39am Loosing a minute every time. ClassCharts say it is Bromcom, Bromcom say it could be Wonde and the LEA don't know. So here I am. Anyone seen this or can offer help? Cheers Gareth

Just finishing The Guest on iPlayer - it's been ok. Watched The Assasin on Amazon - that was good. New season of The Diplomat is due soon.

I'm assuming they are working on it now (22:28) - as it's down and up and down and giving me errors loading the pages.

Good morning, Has anyone here invested in Hesk Cloud or does everyone use the self-install version on a local web server? Cheers Gareth

Morning all - hoping someone can help. Does anyone know if it is possible to create a lookup table of pupils that can be allocated to various groups in Bromcom? I don't want them as a tutor group, or as a specific class - just as a list of pupils from across a range of classes. I can then add that lookup list to specific groups only. Cheers Gareth

Just started binge watching Season 1. Loving it. Keri Russell is great.

There has not been a lot of training - beyond what Bromcom on their training site. We are not getting the teachers involved yet. I'm trying to get my head around some stuff as the main site admin here at school before I unleash it. I could ask the LEA - but often it is quicker to ask on here. Gareth

Thanks @Synkrox - I saw this, but couldn't find how to create separate groups of people. Probably being blind and need more time to configure my brain to the new systems.

So our handover with the LEA team today saw us become a Bromcom school. All schools in Swansea are migrating and today was our handover day. Now the questions begin and people are already knocking on my door asking - "Can I do....." So the first one - A Deputy Head wants to know if they can create a calendar that is only visible on the teacher dashboard. This would be editable by our Diary Organiser and only viewable by Staff - but hopefully replace the spreadsheet that is currently used. Cheers.

Good afternoon everyone - I wonder if anyone has a powershell script that I can run on machine startup that collects a machines serial number, hash key and current machine name and then writes it back to a central CSV/Excel file. We will shortly be moving to InTune so I wanted to collect all the Hash keys from domain machines without running around the school. Cheers

Hi All, Does anyone have the latest HP Proliant 380 Gen 9 BIOS they can send? I need a support contract for the Gen9s to get the BIOS. Gen 10 doesn't (annoyingly). We get our support through ParkPlace. It's awful that HP want money for EOL servers (I'm sure the Gen9 is EOL). The version number is: 3.40_08-29-2004 / 2024-09-12 Any help appreciated - asking a lot. Gareth

Shae there isn't something that good for Windows 11 that would allow me to configure it better with a similar setup interface. Or have I missed something?

Can you tell me more about OpenShell?

I'll close this off. I took Sunday to spin up a new 2022 server. Got it all sorted. A small issue between different versions of Veeam where I needed to find an older ISO (I'd not updated in a while). All is good now and backups are running without issue. Thanks to everyone for their comments. Gareth

Okay - well, I tried an in-place update. It didn't work. 'Windows Server installation has failed' is the message I get. So something must be well broken. Luckily it's virtual so I'll spin up a new one later in the week and copy stuff over. Cheers Gareth

Thanks everyone. Might do an in place today.

Evening All, I have a 2019 Standard server which runs Veeam. For a while now the Windows Update service has broken on it. I've tried to fix it with everything I find on the web. I've run the trouble-shooters, run the commands that I've found here: Fix Windows Update corruptions and installation failures - Windows Server | Microsoft Learn I've followed blogs etc etc - all of which basically say the same thing. Nothing works. I've tried manually installing, but they fail and keep rolling back (so at least that is working). Short of re-building the server, does anyone have any ideas? Ideally I want to avoid spending time rebuiling. I don't generally backup the backup server. Cheers Gareth

What is your preferred operating system? (PC)
garethEds replied to YeetJeepo's topic in General Chat
All machines at home run Windows 11 Pro. I liked Windows 7 but my first Windows based was 2000Pro - loved that. -
Hi there - could you tell me how you do this? Cheers Gareth
