- Maybe something here (second post down)?

Hi - no. We let the trial lapse. I ran out of time testing to be honest. I've not looked at it since. I've decided to use PEXE on our WDS server and not bother with ipxe.

Bromcom > Moving documents from SIMS to Bromcom

@Homer - Did you get your app out there? I'm quite happy to test for you if you need it. -
I am moving our snipe-it asset from hosted to local as it has become cost prohibitive. They have a docker container that I can use - so it will be production inside school.
-
Maybe the way forward. I've not worked with Linux for years.

Afternoon all - is it possible (maybe not-advisable) to run an instance of Docker on my HyperV cluster? We have three HyperV nodes in a cluster. I need to run a Docker container. Will it affect anything? Did that make sense? It does to me - but I am tired today. Gareth

Before I go searching the various 3D printing sites - does anyone have a 'go-to' site where they download 3D files for scenery that is suitable for W40K? I'm on Thingiverse but just wondered if anyone had their favourite sites. Cheers

Another issue this morning - but with the pupil application on Android (maybe iPhone) - all the modules have gone. My resident Year 8 Geek took great pride in showing me his phone with a broken Student App - and it is the new one. As for the main cloudmis site - the stylesheet seems to be broken on our side this morning - but yip, broken on the Welsh side as well.

So the visit to the Warhammer shop in Swansea was great. Luke the Manager was very encouraging in what he offered. I bought a small Space Marine 3 figure kit with some paints for £22.50 and issue 518 of White Dwarf - which was he history celebration issue. Not read it yet. I also looked at pricing for an Ultimate Starter Set - £130. Later that evening I approached a mate who runs a local business and he agreed to give our club £200 to purchase the Ultimate Starter kit + some other consumables like paints, glue, brushes etc. We also have another local business who is willing to give us some cash to build our school team. I've not opened my figures yet - I'll wait until Wednesday so the kids can be involved with my nervous excitement. Exciting times for this 51 year old!

I've just re-looked at https://www.osdcloud.com/ and it's all changed. I'm getting to old for this.

Morning @Boredguy - Would you be willing to share your script and csv format headers?

The one thing I really like about MDT is that it will name machines based on MAC address stored in the inbuilt database. I've never liked naming machines based on %SerialNumber% or other general fields. I know where they are based on their name.

Bromcom > Moving documents from SIMS to Bromcom

We can export profiles and reports - but other stuff like exam results. Salamander version converts everything to pdf. I'm happy to try and feedback to you. -
Amusingly enough, I've just had a meeting with my colleague who is running the club as well and he took me through Factions and Chapters for me to choose my own personal team. Well - because I am a Star Wars fan and love Stormtroopers - I have decided to go with Space Marines: White Scars. Now I have no idea if they are any good, but I like the look of what they could be. Maybe someone here will tell me not to bother Myself and my colleague are off to the Warhammer shop in Swansea after school for a look and a chat with whoever is there. I think it's called 'The Gamers Emporium'. My heart sank earlier though when I saw the cost of this stuff.

Annoying that the tool is £500 per school and then another £250 for staff data export. Silly pricing when an LEA has 13 secondaries and 100 or so primaries. The SIMS inbuilt document export (Housekeeping) is ok but doesn't to quite everything. -
I've been meaning to look at this. Nothing will be as good as MDT though.

Oooo -just found this: whitelibrary.info

Absolutwly love this post - thanks @Garacesh - really appreciated. Upon reading this and based on my own love of sci-fi, is there a good Space Marine faction? I've also just found a core-rules book pdf so will read this tonight. I'm sure there used to be a magazine as well on the shelves of WH Smith - White Dwarf? Is this still available to buy in Tesco (the only place to get mags thse days). It isn't on Readly.

Afternoon everyone - thought I'd show our new club logo (clearly chatgpt created) - but the kids love it. I also have a question.... .... As their teacher I am clueless with this stuff. My aim is to give them a safe space. But to be ultra-cool I need to get involved. Where do I start? What to I read? I want to create my own Team (Edmondson!) - that I can use against the pupils. Happy to take advice - books, websites..... I have joined the South Wales Warhammer 40K Facebook group and they have been great - with some even donating stuff. Anyway - here is our logo

Okay - I am still learning but - Tabletop Simulator?
-
We restarted our club today - new members. Rather amusing that once the old members (Year 11) saw the new members they came out of the woodwork. We also now have an Instagram - @gwyr40k if anyone wants to take a peek and see what we will get up to.

Bromcom > Moving documents from SIMS to Bromcom
garethEds replied to garethEds's topic in MIS Systems
This would do the job - but it's £500 - end of year and we do not have that. Gareth -
Dueing our move to Bromcom from SIMS, we wondered whether our linked documents - such as previous years reports would come over as part of the migration and link to the Pupil record in Bromcom. This hasn't happened. Documents are referenced as having being created, but they are not linked to the pupil. Has anyone managed to export - for example - all Year 11 reports last year and then import them in bulk to Bromcom with them linking to the correct pupil? I'd love to hear from you
