Hi - yes. Am currently trying that. It's deploying. Be strange if it worked. Why would it work with a new task sequence and not the old task sequence?.... I'll wait here before pressing 'Submit Reply'......... Nah - it stopped.

We've updated this as well to the Sept 2023 version which MS say will work. (Download and install the Windows ADK | Microsoft Learn) Gareth

Afternoon Everyone, A strange issue has started since upgrading MDT to deploy Feb 2023 Windows 11. We are getting an error messgae: 'Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the quested logon type at this computer.' This happened on the Sept 2023 image as well. I have updated the ADK etc but am still seeing the issue. If I log in as the local admin twice, the deployment continues. A Google search didn't really show anything of use so if anyone has any issues - I'd love to hear them. Many thanks Gareth

I didn't need any of them (even though I have them both). G

Morning All, Does anyone know of a script or software that will extract a specific page from multiple pdfs? We have 201 Year 9 reports and I want to extract Page 5 of each one and either save in a new file or save as individual files. I don't want to go through each pdf manually. Edit: I really should Google first. Going to try this: windows - Extract the 1st, 4th and 8th page from multiple pdfs - Super User Edit 2 : Yeah, that worked. Cheers Gareth

Howdy Smoothwall Experts, Is there a SmoothWall cloud package that can be installed on a Linux box so I can send it through the cloud filter as with our Windows and Chromebook machines? Cheers Gareth

And there is was - the missing link. I assumed that if the pupil had accepted the invite, then the tick would automatically go in. So am I right in saying the process is: 1. Send invite 2. Pupil accepts and sets up account 3. Admin then has to tick them as pupils to let them have access. This third step is the annoying one and I had not done that. Cheers Luke. Gareth

Evening all, I've accessed and setup https://www.sims-options.co.uk and have invited a student. She has received the email and has accepted the invite. She has used the 'Register with External Address' and it asked for the code and date of birth. All has been entered. We used her Office365 address. In the setup of Options online, I have created the courses, added the pupils and made the options active. I've also made sure her address is in SIMS. But.... when she logs onto https://www.sims-options.co.uk with everything in the right place, the pupil is not being showed the options. Can anyone advise any steps I may be missing? Many thanks Gareth

Yeah - I had to do it during the work day. Moved our virtual machines to one side of the cluster, drained, evicted, upgraded, rejoined - checked. Moved second server in the same way. Upgraded cluster level; updated all VM configuration level. Checked CAU was working. Rhan cluster check Backed up Done. Nobody knew anything different. Gareth

Me too. Did an inplace upgrade on Monday. Twook 2019 to 2022. Worked a treat. Couldn't be bothered with a clean install. Gareth

Thanks everyone - going to run that. Am having trouble with Linux at the moment. Just tried installing one my Hyper-V and it failed. It's nothing really - btu just frustrating that I've not got the time to play about.

WHoops. Didn't check if there as a *nix forum. Cheers @Dos_Box

Good morning, Can anyone recommend the best Linux to install onto a PowerEdge 380G8 server with RAID? I want to setup an internal web server for the pupils to use. I've tried MintLinux but it doesn't recognise the RAID drives (which have been configured to mirror in the HP software). I've installed many linux flavours onto machines with a simple drive - your usual desktops and laptops, but never on a server. I was hoping it would be the same. Cheers Gareth

Good afternoon, As part of my testing, I am trying to map some of the drives on our domain to our inTune device. I've followed a script on a website and it maps the drives but they have huge red cannot connect crosses against them. They are showing the FQDN. When I click on them, they ask me to authenticate. I do as a domain admin and they work and I can access the files. But - I don't want that. These are open shares for staff users which contain resources. Any idea what security settings I need to set on my domain folders to allow this open access across the two separate systems? Cheers Gareth

Evening, My mind is all questions tonight, so here is another. This time regarding Papercut. We currently have a PaperCut server on-site. It is a member server of our domain. Works well. Does the job. We use pin codes to print the secure queue and staff users choose their department from a list. Pupils print direct to a 'pupil printer/mfd'. However I am testing inTune on another domain for a possible future migration. So the question is... Is it possible to use the same server over two different domains where one domain has pin access and the other domain (the Intune domain) has email authentication? I think I'm making sense with the question - I have a picture in my head of what I want but not sure if I've explained it well enough. If not - ask away. Cheers Gareth

Hiya all, Getting to grips with inTune and I like what I have used so far. However - I just cannot find where to set the homepage for Safari. Can anyone help? Am I missing an obvious setting? Cheers Gareth

Morning All, We're having major issues with laptop vandalism here in school. A bit wimpy I know, but I've been upset today by the damage I have seen caused in one department. Key ripped off keyboards, screens smashes and trackpads lifted. Clearly done on purpose. Staff had not mentioned it, so when I did my trolley walk around I discovered them and was lost for words. So - I am now looking at how we can stop this. One idea was to force kids into 1:1 laptop provision. I know there are schools that do this, so want to get in touch with the people who run the schemes. Who do you use? Pitfalls? etc etc Any advice? Please get in touch here or via DM. Cheers Gareth

I ordered two Reillo ones today as the price was good. Added NICs to them as well. Should be here on Wednesday. Regards Gareth

Morning All, I'm soon to be looking for two new UPS devices to backup our power - following a major issue on Monday. What UPS are people purchasing? Ideally ones that come with sofware that shut down Virtual Machines/HyperV servers and restart them when the power is back on (is that possible?) Cheers Gareth

Morning all, Has anyone managed to get AutoPilot working with MDT as per this blog post: Using MDT with Windows Autopilot for Existing Devices - Task Sequence Template and Scripts - Deployment Research I am nearly there but it's failing when trying to 'Secure the Hardware' with error code 0x800705b4 Lots on the web about timing out, but none of the settings seem to apply.
