Hi @nwkeene, Yes - VLC is playing fine from the WInTV10 app on the local PC and or 2 x remote PCs. The issue has raised it's head because we need 4 x remote PCs showing the Wales game on Friday. We have been advised by PSBA not to use the broadband network. I'm just trying to make it a better experience for everyone. Is there a similar software to DVBlast for Windows? Googling that now. Thanks for getting int ouch, Gareth

Afternoon All, Can anyone advise.... I'm running WinTV10 with Extend via a dual Hauppage Digital TV Tuner. It all works. I want to stream the output of this software to certain areas of the school. WinTV 10 only allows 2 connections but we need 4. So I'm opening the WinTV stream in VLC to the local machine and then trying to stream from there via rtsp on port 7799 It's not working - so there is something wrong with my logic somewhere. I'm missing something. Can anyone advise? Many thanks Gareth

Afternoon everyone, To those that are running PDQ Inventory and PDQ Deploy - do you find firing up the applications slow? We are running both on a virtual server with 16Gb RAM and 4 processors. It still crawls to load up. Once it's loaded it's ok, but getting there can take up to 60 - 90 seconds. I've made sure the database is clean etc etc as suggested but it's awful. Gareth

Afternoon All, Has anyone installed Server 2022 on a HP 380gen8? We have three running 2019 which is fine but was just wondering how much more I could push them. Cheers Gareth

Afternooon All, Does anyone know how to get around the Papercut 'Connecting to Papercut MF server' screen on a Konica Minolta MFD (C300i)? I need to change the IP address but as it has a Connection Failed error in a loop I cannot get into the original login screen to enter the admin credentials. Every time it fails, it jumps back to the main screen. I can access the password window but then the error message and we start again. There must be a way. Thanks Gareth

Afternoon, Does anyone have any old/spare Lenovo T460 keyboards? I have two laptops that cannot be fixed as Lenovo (Flextronics) do not have the parts in stock and may never have them. Cheers Gareth

Morning all, I'm after a bit of opinion. In our PExe drivers on our MDT server I have different version numbers of the same driver (see image attached). This is probably because I've imported drivers over the years and never cleared out. So.... if there is a newer version of the driver, would you get rid of the old? Here is an example..... or am I likely to break something. Makes sense to me to clear out and reduce the boot image, but you just never know. Cheers Gareth

Good afternoon all, Does anyone have a script that I can run from our PowerChute UPS software that runs in the event of a power failure and shuts down our virtual servers gracefully? Many thanks Gareth

Afternoon all, Can anyone tell me the latest version of ActivInspire? We have some machiens running 2.4.66096 which I would assume is the latest, however the latest download from the website, via the link the email through is 2.24.69388 which is a lower version number. Cheers Gareth

This link might help (version numbers are different of course): Building A Windows 10 1909 November 2019 Update (19H2) Reference Image with MDT – Mike Galvin - Technical Consultant Gareth

I had a Harry's subscription and really enjoyed using their products as they lasted quite a bit. However I've recently stopped all subs to un-necessary items (Oddballs pants for example!). Once I have finished using my Harry's stuff I will go back to purchasing something cheaper. Gareth

We have a a mortgage advisor and have just gone through our third re-mortgage in 6 years. We were originally only fixing for two years at a time but this time we went for a 5 year fix with the same bank (less hassle). We completed in June so don't have to worry about it (sorry). I echo what others have said about advisors - ours was worth his weight in gold and was very good. We have paid a fee for lifetime support for as long as we have a mortgage on the property. Managd to get it down this time from £650 to £518 however we didn't borrow any more this time as we're done with the house and any building work. Good luck @BOOT3988 I hope you manage to sort it all out. G

Good evening all, One of our Chromebooks (HP 14) warned me today that the current update was the last it would ever receive. Oh! Nothing wrong with the device. Got me thinking what others do when their Chromebooks reach end of software updates? Do you keep using them until they die? Clearly we cannot replace them as this happens. I'm not worried - what could go wrong? Gareth

Yes we do that and the wifi SSID is chosen automatically, but somehow they are getting the laptop to forget it and it isn't then re-picking up - instead jumping to another SSID (a Guest one) which then presents them with a captive portal. Cheers Gareth

Morning All, The latest game here in school is to change the wifi setting on our school laptops and forgetting the connection to the main device wifi. It's getting annoying. Is anyone aware of a GPO that will either hide the wifi icon which appears on the bottom right, or at the very least lock it so it cannot be chosen to change anything? I cannot find an option but maybe someone has. Cheers Gareth

Using Edulink to send SIMS individual reports to parents
garethEds replied to Pollock's topic in MIS Systems
We bought into Edulink during the Pandemic lockdowns and it does what we need for sending out reports to parents. I admit we are not using all of it's potential and there is a lot more I will look to do next year but for sending reports - it's fine. Gareth -
Good afternoon, Does anyone have a powershell script that can be run on logoff to delete a user profile? It's for use on some small ssd machines. User have mandatory profiles that stay on the machine. DelProf is not removing them quickly enough for us so I want to remove them as they log off. I found reference to one but the new script centre doesn't have it when searched. Many thanks Gareth

Evening All, I'm researching into InTune and am wondering if you can use it alongside on-site servers. We have a print server (PaperCut) and a management server (used for softwrae deployment via pdq deploy/inventory). If I prepare/deploy machines using inTune can they still make use of the on-site servers somehow? I also have mapped drives to fileservers that would need to continue. I'm looking to move away from MDT. We've already moved to WuFB and that is all good. Thanks Gareth

Nice to meet people yesterday at the Edugeek stand. First time at BETTsince it moved from Olympia many moons ago. Nice seeing some faces I'd not seen for a long time. My son and I eventually made it back to South Wales by 9:30pm. Hell of a drive but enjoyed the day out. G

Evening All, I'm going through the CleverTouch Live templates and not really finding anything I like without work. Just wondering if anyone has come up with a really cool one I can use/leech look at? Export it and send it over... :-) Thanks Gareth

I'll be there on the Friday. First time in over 10 years (when did it move from Olympia?). Got me a hotel booked on Thursday evening. Driving up instead of train. Gareth
