About Pollock

1. Hi there, I can't seem to isolate where detention attendance is. Does it exist as a report variable? Thanks,
2. Hi there, This is my first time setting up SIMS for a proper exam season. When attempting to import basedata for Edexcel GCSE, it gives me two file options - S6Y24_10.X01 (BTEC) and S6G24_10.X01 (GCSE). Having imported the BTEC file in first, it doesn't permit me to import the GCSE contents afterward. Evidently I'm doing something wrong, but no amount of googling has provided any results pertaining to this specific issue. Is there a workaround? Thanks for your time and any help. Pollock
3. Hi there, I've been asked to produce a list of pupils in PE class 1 and Drama class 2 (lets say). Sadly, i'm not sure how to introduce that as a filter, within the "create a report" utility. As far as i'm aware, I can't produce exam numbers in the general list report, nor on a marksheet. Please forgive such a basic question. My eyes evidently don't work, as I can't see how to filter by specific course class. Thanks for any help.
4. Hi all, Attempted to add a filter to a spreadsheet, which failed to sort by value. Removed the filter and opted for custom sort, to accomplish the same thing, and noticed that Excel was sorting then immediately reverting back to orginal order. The numbers that i'm attempting to sort are derived from formulas, pulling numbers in from other sheets. I saw the following posts on another forum: =SOMEFUNCTION('CurrentSheet'!A1) was changed to =SOMEFUNCTION(A1) and data was able to be sorted. Not sure why exactly this is the case but in case someone has the same issue/problem they may come across this. The problem is, his reference was contained within the same sheet, yet mine must reference others, therefore I cannot remove the sheet reference to remedy the sorting issue. Can anyone advise? Thanks for your time.
5. Struggling to get the report to create a list of pupils, subject, class code and results/targets for each of the subjects, following this template:

First Name Last Name SEN Subject Group Current Grade Target Grade

e.g. Joni e.g. Mitchell Yes/No e.g. Maths e.g. Maths-1 e.g.6 e.g.8

Just not sure how to get the results and classes to show properly/ align. Any help greatly appreciated as always. Thanks for your time.
6. Hi all, We've imported FFT aspire targets into SIMS. However, it has imported targets for all subjects. That is to say, pupils not taking a subject still have a target for it. This throws out our ability to create clean individual reports. I created a marksheet showing the targets, and cleared them. However, when I returned, they were all back again. I was wondering how I would go about clearing hundreds of results.... without having to do them individually. Thanks.
7. Sorry to post in something so old, but this is exactly what I need. Can anyone advise on how to accomplish this?
8. Thank you so much! This is a great help.
9. Hi there, The exams officer at our school has asked if SIMS has a feature that prints ID cards, similar to the following: Can someone advise if this is the case, and if so, where it's located?
10. Thank you also
11. Hero. Thank you so much.
12. Hi there, It's been a while since I've done this, but I recall being able to bulk edit class memberships/change their sets. However, for the life of me, I can't remember how to do so, or where to go. I recall the search window including various subject groups/bands... Sorry for being so vague.
13. Hi all, Clearly I'm not making the grade set correctly, though observing others within our system, I can't ascertain why. I'm merely looking to imports CAT test data. How does one make an appropriate grade set for results between 70-130? SIMS seems to imply that I need to include every single possible mark within the grade set, which surely can't be true? Is there a way to make a grade set that will just accept all numerical values? Sorry for such a basic question.
14. Hi all, Still learning the ropes here, so please forgive any obvious questions. We've made template marksheets for every subject, and assigned available groups to them. Sadly, I do not make the groups, so am not familiar with that side of things. Nevertheless, I'm getting constant emails (and rightly so) about members of staff not seeing marksheets for their classes, nor are departments heads seeing marksheets pertaining to their subjects. I'm guessing that this is an issue in the group forming process. Reviewing marksheets from previous years it seems we have a wider selection of groups, some pertaining to subject and key stage. This is visibly lacking this year. I'm going to try to fix this myself, gaining permissions to make such groups, but wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction of a solution, as I'm not sure what this is referred to as ultimately, or where best to look. Thanks for your time and any help. P
