I think the "official" people will want serialised spares so that Apple can recognise the drive and use it's thermal management thing. There is a bit of software that you can get to bypass this if you just put a "normal" ssd in though.

We've been BT for 5 years, one period of outage for no more than a couple of hours. Rock solid besides. We use Smoothwall UTM alongside. Both need renewing this year, but would go with both again if the tender is favourable.

ICT Direct, BIST and Insight have all been good for us.

Unfortunately the tender through the framework has only come back with lamped NEC or Lampless Hitachi.

So, at least we're not being offered Casio I suppose!! Anyone any experience with the Hitachi Laser ones?

Yes, we have quite a few already, of differing makes. Many rooms are big here, long especially, and you'd need a very expensive screen as opposed to a relatively cheap projector. Most want the IWB removing too. I think sometimes we give them what WE think they should use, not what THEY actually want to teach with!

Touchscreen TV's were an option, NO staff wanted them.

Hi all, We have options on Hitachi Lampless or standard NEC projectors. The ones we're replacing are 7/8 year old NEC, and whilst some are dim or a bit lifeless, they've served us very well. A demo of the Hitachi looked great, and the TCO would be lower over the 5yr warranty period due to no lamp replacements, but has anyone got longish experience of the lampless, or even Hitachi, projectors they could share?

I only look at work really, when time allows. I do have school Facebook and Twitter to oversee anyway, so I just have it on a tab next to them. Strangely, therefore, it "feels" like a work thing so I don't look at home!

We pay for an Enterprise Mobility licence for each FTE that covers the site for InTune. Whether this is correct or not is down to the Licencing Gods!

We tried for a while using Smoothwall, to some effect, but then every outside agency that comes in needs their VPN to work (NHS, Careers, Religious groups, HR, auditors etc etc...) so it was more trouble than it was worth. We audit the apps on our ipads (BYOD) and give a list of users with VPNs installed to Year managers and they chase up.

If I do come, it will be ad hoc, no food. But looking doubtful, sorry.
