  1. TL;DR but: Home - Tine Thing Helseth www.bonesapart.com HOME home for starters... And as for Brass Bands, I've experience of this. I played for Besses o'th Barn just after they admitted their first female player in the early 90's, and I also played in Faireys while they were still all male (2004!!). These days it's a better mix, although I currently play at Foden's and there are only 4 women in the band out of 28 players, but 3 of these are on Principal seats........
  2. The Halle has 2 female trombonists currently. The Philadelphia Orchestra has a female Tubist. Pretty sure these are top Orchestras....
  3. You'd think wouldn't you? But an awkward return of a Magicard Rio this Summer says otherwise!. Only Evolis as yet.
  4. The card printer is it's printer, but it only works with Evolis printers. Prints and programs the mifare card. You have to design it first and use templates, but it works well.
  5. We use SmartCardStore for supplies, never been an issue. Print about 1000 a year using Biostore ID Manager linked to SIMS.
  6. We do our own with evolis printers. Used for Printers, doors, library and lunches so we do plenty each day!
  7. If you fancy supporting 100 teachers with all of these, fill your boots!!
  8. Spoiled here. Laptop, no older than 4 years, and an ipad each, with desktop, Apple TV and projector in every room. PC runs through a USB dock that they could also use with their laptop if they chose. 70% have IWB or Touchscreen, rest have projector. All have an amp and speakers connected to everything, including the Apple TV.
  9. I've switched back, it's poor compared to Inbox :-(
  10. Our LA issued a great description from Osmis. "A problem has existed in SIMS since Christmas which means that in some cases the importing of a CTF to an admission group will result in new pre-admission pupils being linked to the wrong contact and can also result in contacts being allocated incorrect addresses. Description of Problem On import, the software uses a matching routine to check if any of the pupils to be imported have contacts that already exist in SIMS and, where this is the case, links that contact to the pupil and updates the contacts address as necessary. Unfortunately, several aspects of the matching routine where accidentally removed so that the matching routine only checks for matching names and gender. The net result is that existing contacts can be given the wrong address and the imported pupil in the admission group can be linked to the wrong contacts. Also where no address for the contact has been included in the CTF file, the link from the imported pupil will be to the first existing contact with the same name and gender, but in this case the address for that contact is not changed. Example of Problem The school runs Routine | Data In | Import CTF and chooses 'Add data for New Pupils Only'. Having selected the CTF file, the user opts for placing the new pupil in a Pre-Admission Group. Pupil named Paul Smith is added to a Pre-Admission and the software looks in the SIMS list of all contacts to find Paul's contact whose name is John Smith with a gender of male. The software finds the first male John Smith in the list, which given the commonness of the name is likely to be the wrong John Smith, and links that John Smith as a contact for the Paul Smith that has been added to the Pre-Admission Group. Where the CTF file includes an address for the contact, the software compares the address of the John Smith in the CTF file with the John Smith that has been linked to the Paul Smith that has been added to the Pre-Admission Group and, in nearly all cases, finds that they are different. Having found that they are different the software changes the current address for the contact (which is very likely to be the right address) to the address in the CTF file (which is very likely to be the wrong address). Therefore, the Paul Smith that has been added to the Pre-Admission Group is very likely to have ended up linked to the wrong John Smith. If this John Smith has been given the wrong address, that wrong address will be significant to both Paul Smith and any other pupils where John Smith is the contact."
  11. Yes we spotted this earlier in the year. We're probably looking elsewhere for MIS now, as I can't see a transfer to Web based being particularly smooth or successful..... We checked and it only affected a few contacts here.
  12. Yes been looking, but had a bad experience with AliExpress previously on delivery, so not confident! Also the "10-25 days" shipping puts me off!
  13. I'll be looking for a cheap Chinese phone (high level cheap, not basic cheap!) and an Endoscope if anyone spots them!
  14. Can you export anything from FMS (orders, ledgers etc) into something Excel able? CSV etc? The Principal wants it!
  15. This is my wife's school, I can answer any informal questions anyone has about this post (she's Head of Music)
  16. We had to get a new Lighting desk to use LED and movers, and decent movers are around £2500 each minimum for good features (Martin Rush we bought here). The cheaper LED's don't do decent colours and to get the same brightness as conventional lights you need good stuff.
  17. We're with BT Global, 1gig uncontended so a bit more than you need but we've previously used Exa for a backup line that was solid and good value, that included filtering.
  18. You can't do this with the Outlook app. It's a request they've had for ages. It's notifications on or off.
  19. We're on this. HDMI over Cat5, with Crestron controller from a lectern. NEC PA 653U https://www.nec-display-solutions.com/p/uk/en/products/details/t/Projectors/Installation-Projectors/rp/PA653U.xhtml
  20. We have Enterprise mobility as part of OVS, around £14 per FTE. That then gives intune to all users including students?
  21. We have all those in our list, plus more, and are getting increasing black screens still.
  22. Yes, same as most MDM's. If there is a specific I can check if you want?
  23. This is what we're doing too.
  24. We have some Ctouch (best of the ones we own), a couple of Promethean (One already been replaced, and not liked) a Philips (Early, but ok) but most all teachers still want a projector.
