We have just put in a brand new Aruba network and having issues with our windows 7 machines. They are really slow logging in and get stuck on the please wait for the user profile service. The windows 10 machines don’t have this problem. In the event viewer I get the warning the winlogon notification subscriber took XXX seconds.

Connections are all fine and so is the routing. After all the checks i have done now i think it maybe a smoothwall update which has done this. -
HELP! Upload bandwidth problems
Shadow_Walker replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
The Broadband is supplied by yourselves but support have been great and set up some traffic shaping on our router to limit some upload just to mitigate it for now until smoothwall can get back to me. -
I have a primary school in our trust with around 250 pupils and around 20 staff. We have at FTTC broadband connection so our upload is only around 8mb max. When a user goes on youtube for whatever reason our smoothwall goes ballistic and the upload traffic for that one user goes to around 2mb for around 30 seconds then goes back to normal then does it again. Even a simple google search seems to spike it as well and if all users do it at around the same time the internet cuts off! Any ideas?

This mainly happens with the apple apps like keynote, garageband etc but when we set the app to automatically install we get the error message "Device does not meet app minimum requirements" however if i set the app up in self service it works when installing it via self service!I need the app installing via the install automatically route though so any ideas?

MAT Digital signage system
Shadow_Walker replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Only concern with that is that it would be publicly accessible so if we had internal videos only playing if anyone got the URL it would be externally accessible. -

MAT Digital signage system
Shadow_Walker replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Thanks Brimstone this looks great. We are quite a large MAT so would we be alright with the unlimited package or need to look at a multi site package? - - - Updated - - - You running it across VPNS then? -
MAT Digital signage system
Shadow_Walker replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Do your MAT sites run as individual or do you have it hooked back up to one server? -
We are looking at what digital signage systems will best suit our MAT. We want all the screens to play pretty much the same stuff but then some local changes being made possible. Ideally we would like a free solution!

We just give him the alias in AD to sync to office 365.

I have a headteacher who is head teacher at multiple sites in our MAT. He has an email address alias setup so for name@school1 and name@school2. The issue is he wants to know which has been sent to which email. Is there a way i can setup folders for him so one called school1 and another one which is school2 to split the emails?
-
Office 365 has limits to how many emails can be sent per hour (or minute). Had a similar issue at my last school and had to use a different smtp relay to get it working. We did have to pay for a different smtp though. EDIT: 30 messages per minute seems to be the limit

I looked at my last place and Insight were very good. They use a company called Bluestone i think. Call Insight and they will come in and show you all the pros and cons etc.

Antimalware Service Executable
Shadow_Walker replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in Windows Server 2012
Restart has already been done twice. Sadly it is now hanging and won't restart -
On my SIMS server the service Antimalware Service Executable is running at 95% and is slowing the whole server down. Scanned for virus and all came back fine. I can't seem to end the task or stop it either which is frustrating. Any ideas?
