  1. Yes, I manage to discovery it this morning when someone mentioned Swiff that rang a tiny bell. Thanks, anyway
  2. I've just had a look at the Help for Educators section on Facebook. On it is a barrage of example questions such as, "What do I do if I receive abusive messages?", etc. The answer to the majority of these questions is a rewording of "Click the Report this Person/Group/Message link" and, also, hidden in the middle of one of these is the CEOP "Panic Button". I'm just wondering what would be quicker if you were concerned about messages, etc., you were receiving. What would get things done more effectively? Clicking the CEOP link to take you to a bunch of advisory pages? Or clicking the Report links which, in some cases, blocks the person responsible and reports it to Facebook. The term "panic button" should be changed because that gives the impression of instant reporting and resolution, as if clicking on it would make everything OK again. Quite misleading, possibly?
  3. My bike has been in the shed and hasn't seen the light of day for going on two years. I really must do something about that.
  4. This is slightly embarrassing. Some time ago we installed a plug-in for Powerpoint which enable the user to easily insert a Flash movie into their presentation. Unfortunately, coz I'm thick, I've completely forgotten what it's called and where I got it from so I was wondering if you guys could help. The only info I can give you is a screenshot of how the plug-in appears in the Insert menu. If anyone recognises the icon or knows instantly what I'm talking about, it would be appreciated. Next time, I'll take note of what I install.
  5. Hi guys, The school have expressed an interest in purchasing Lesson Monitor so we can start (at last) electronic registration. Aside from being able to register per lesson, what other benefits does Lesson Monitor have? Without it, we can still do behaviour, etc. For the amount we've been quote, it appears that the only benefit would be to register per lesson instead of just AM/PM. Is it worth it or am I missing something completely?? Cheers.
  6. My thoughts exactly. It's not like I've been cursing my iPhone since I bought it because it couldn't multitask. If I needed multitasking, I'd have bought another phone. Happy to wait
  7. I'm not an impatient person so don't mind waiting for these things... plus, I'm not in competition with anyone to see who has the best phone. At the end of the day, it's making life easier. Don't give a hoot what anyone else has.
  8. Yup, that's right. I'm not complaining, though. I'm quite happy to quit an app to open an new one. Not a problem. Besides, my contract ends in September so I'll either go to the 3GS or the (possible) new one out in summer. I think the most beneficial feature for me will be the ability to create folders on the Home Screen.
  9. I saw that posted on Twitter. The photos they capture from up there are amazing. It's still hard to believe.
  10. Haha - that's fantastic.
  11. Lookin' lovely.
  12. Have you got NOTHING else to do??? Lol.
  13. Nothing. I don't tend to do anything on April Fools Day. No one's here for a start. Lol. I might do something immature and turn the website upside down.
  14. That's just over geeky.
  15. I got a sample just after Christmas and was sceptical at first. However, after a few goes, I've found it really works. It isn't for stubborn stuff as some people think but it's great for getting loose crap from keyboards and other hard-to-reach places. Anti-bacterial, too, so good for office phone handsets
  16. Although the majority is left to the above mentioned "cleaners", I recommend CyberClean. A brilliant goo which picks up all sorts of rubbish from keyboards, mice, mobile phones. Everything. It's brilliant!
  17. Hi gang, We have an Epson EPL-N3000 printer that's suddenly started printing nothing but full black pages. I've checked the drum and the toner but nothing seems a problem. Then, we discovered the attached part. It's a sponge roller and it's COVERED in toner. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be but it could be what's causing the problem. Does anyone know it's name and if it needs to or can be replaced? Thanks
  18. Hi gang, I've seen lots of articles around the Interweb about how to convert MSWMM files (from old Movie Maker) to WLMP files (Windows Live Movie Maker). Unfortunately, I want to be awkward and need to know a way of doing that in reverse. We have good old Movie Maker 2.0 in school and kids are using Windows Live Movie Maker at home. They come into school unable to open their projects. Wondering if there's anything out there to convert these files back to an older version? I have doubts but it's worth a shot. Ta!
  19. We've had a Twitter account for a while now fed to our website. As well as being informative on the site, people have also started following us for updates. It was especially useful during the snow. I did a small survey after and a lot of people for the information about the closure through Twitter or seeing our feed on the site so it's proved it's use.
  20. You mean that you're not tempted to buy from them after their subtle promotion??
  21. Personally, I love my iPhone but I think it's very user specific. If you're not bothered about any of the above (like me) or quite happy finding other solutions (like me) then the iPhone is great. There's nothing wrong with the iPhone. It's just not the ideal solution for everyone.
  22. Thanks to all. I'll give a few of those options a go.
  23. Hi gang, Something's stopped me being clever this morning. I've got a shortcut file that I want to put on admin users desktops. I've already written it into the logon script as a simple copy command from a network location to Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop so tomorrow it won't be a problem. However, I'm impatient and want it there now. Can the copy command be used to run a batch now to copy this shortcut to the desktop of every admin computer currently on? Can it be done without using GP? Someone suggested somewhere that... copy \\server\file.lnk "\\%computername%.mydomain.local\c$\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\file.lnk"... might work but it didn't.
  24. I'm always keen to go to Solution Search first then the forums. More often than not, the answer is there staring me in the face.
