  1. *strokes chin thoughtfully* hmmm... very valid points there... and very true, too
  2. I don't think that's a solution, FN-GM. We've had that problem for years. I wouldn't call it a problem because they can only see other area and not actually do anything with them. I think originally I posted it on here and people told me it was one of those things that happens and can't really be resolved so I've just lived with it. This is, of course, assuming that the OP meant a redirected Start Menu, as is our setup. Restricting access to C: would work if it was local, I should expect.
  3. I like the Kelloggs advert with the kid from Bristol. His accent cracks me up every time. It's cool.
  4. Imagine the confusion this is going to cause. People from around the world will be thinking, "Wow! I only have to press Return to send this email" when in fact they're going to end up with hundreds of empty paragraphs. It's going to be a technological disaster!
  5. I don't think the BBC are using Pine. Looks like bog-standard Outlook Express to me.
  6. Not a complaint, just an observation. The trailer for BBC News where the various correspondents are typing out emails (I can tell they're email by the shots of the screens). There are a number of images of them hitting the "Return" key, presumably suggesting they are sending the emails and therefore suggesting BBC News is constantly updated. However, I don't think I know of any email client where you send an email by hitting the "Return" key. Hitting this key moves my cursor onto the next line. It's putting across the message that "You can rely on BBC News; they use paragraphs". Just an observation. CAN you send an email by pressing "Return"?
  7. It's broke. I'd rebuild it.
  8. The gonks webman found are the ones I remember... looks like we're all right
  9. I stand corrected lol
  10. isn't that a troll?
  11. Any reason for the _, Ric? (just thought I'd help you expand your post so you don't appear boring... lol)
  12. Name of my blog
  13. To all Edugeek members who know who I am and where I work: I will be ranting about work, about people at work, about software/hardware at work. I will not be mentioning any names or giving away anything that could reference a member of staff here. If you feel strongly about what I have written because you believe it relates to you or one of our colleagues, then it's pure coincidence that you're a member of the same forum as me. As I mention no names or do not refer to my place of work directly, I feel I am well within my rights to post what I feel. I do, however, make sure I do not hurt anyone's feeling or say anything untoward.
  14. lol... ok
  15. I don't know how this is done but all I know is it won't work if you're using OWA. OWA only supports the Global Address List and not separate ones.
  16. Thanks guys. We've decided on a workaround.
  17. If you can provide the money, we'll buy it, too.
  18. We have Audacity installed locally across out Curriculum network. All works fine until, quite randomly, someone opens their Audacity projects and it's corrupt saying some files are missing. When I check the .au files in the project's data folder, there are indeed some of the .au files it needs missing. I don't know how they're disappearing. It used to be a case of kids moving the data folder around but this has been drilled into them time and time again and I'm pretty confident this is not the case any more. If anyone can shed any light, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
  19. Good but he's obviously got FAR too much time on his hands. lol
  20. Also blocked.
  21. I have Twitter and it was all great until the LA blocked it over half term
  22. I used to have one like that. My phone didn't have a "normal" phone ring. How hard is it to find one?! I spent ages looking for one that just sounds like a bog standard phone. I've got used to hearing a tune now.
  23. The charging for printing is totally out of my hands but I was asked to set our print monitoring software to 10p per colour sheet and free for black and white. This is for A4. For A3, 10p more. Personally, if I was able to set them myself, I'd put a bit more structure to it.
  24. Ringtone: The theme to the Saw films Message: One of the tones that came with the phone.
  25. After reading your post I've just had a toolbar cleanup... lol Got rid of Facebook toolbar because I don't really use it and tidied up my standard toolbar.
