I would have thought that, but it doesn't seem to work.. On the firewall/router in the main site (its a fortinet device) im running a trace and I dont see any packets from the test source client (10.2.0.101) on any interface except for packets destined to a 10.0.0.0 address. so if i ping 10.0.0.1 from the remote 10.2.0.101 client, the ping is sucessful and I can see these packets in the trace log. If i ping 8.8.8.8 from the remote 10.2.0.101 client, i dont even see them at the other end of the vpn tunnel on the fortinet device. Doesnt there need to be some sort of ACL on the cisco that says if the packet is destined to 8.8.8.8 that it sends it down the vpn tunnel, even if the client 10.2.0.101 has the defualt gateway of 10.0.0.1 ? edit: added more

Ive got a remote site and a IPSec from the ADSL router/modem thing there, connected back to the main site. Its working fine for local traffic. Now I want it modified and force all traffic down the tunnel, so the internet browsing is filtered by our appliance at the main site. Our ISP are struggling to achieve this (its their box) so I'm hoping there is someone a bit more cluued up than them here who can write me the commands needed for this so I can tell them tomorrow. The main site is 10.0.0.0/16 and the remote site is 10.1.0.0/16

We dont have offline files but Im sure the "do not make offline files..." is set to enabled in GPO. (probably left over from some previous time) I might try setting that to Not Defined first of all to see if that makes a difference.

is there an easy way to check if this is already installed? we have a long login time. We use redirected documents and desktop for students but obvioulsy dont have offline files form them as they use a different laptop every period.

Server timed out, Server busy errors in OWA. Have had it from a random number of users its not consistent or repeatable that Ive seen. we use the same FQDN for both internal and external owa access (mail.blah.com) Most of the reports are from folk accessing from external as we use outlook 2010 internal (no problem with outlook either internal or external)

I cant remember what way it goes down the plughole up northern hemisphere.. i just flushed the toiled there and it went to fast to tell. But emptying a full sink it went anticlockwise.

we provide macs for the fart department. we have "next day onsite support" apple care for them all but to be honest their support leaves a lot to be desired. The guy arrives next day and then says he doesnt have the right part (after spending ages on the phone "troubleshooting" so they know exactly what is wrong) repeat a few times. I used to think acer support was bad. All my pcs/laptops are acer/dell and their support (here in aus) is phenomenal compared to apple. If you mean how do we deal with day-to-day issues of apple support, we just do it. I had never used a mac before this current job but its simple. Theres not a lot to them and once you can figure out how to do something which is simple on a PC but convoluted on a MAC (show ip address, or mac address, or open a program, or copy a file) then support is a doddle, because all mac users do is open files, browse the internet, and eject USB drives by deleting them in trash.

so that's the difference then simple as that? tomorrow the winds blow from the equator down to us, and the next day they blow from Antarctica up to us? not so scientific after all So while we are here, what has the pressure stuff got to do with things? Is that just to do with how dense the clouds are and if its more likely to rain?

disregarding the Scottish weather where its 4 seasons in a day all year round, a question i have yet to be provided a satisfactory explanation to is this. Why can it be 29 degrees, sunny, not a cloud in the sky, one day. And then the next day (or in my example provided, 2 days later) 19 degrees, and just as sunny, not a cloud in the sky. The sun is giving out the same amount of heat / radiation I assume? And the distance from the sun doesn't change dramatically from one day to the next. So where does the heat go? I'm sure there's a simple logical / meteorological explanation (and I'm anticipating an answer about high pressure and low pressure as this is what the weather folk talk about)

not really sure if this is should be in Hardware or here but anyway.. Ive got a laptop with an Atheros AR5B97 wifi card and in windows 7 the driver is rubbish. Drops out all the time, doesnt wake up after sleep, etc. In windows 8 it is flawless. The driver in w8 is 3.0.0.119 and im trying to find this driver to try with out w7 machines. ive spent a while trawling google and found a custom whq driver which works, and works better than the proper atheros w7 driver, but id like to use the proper one if i can find it.

im glad theyve removed messenger from all of it was frustrating having to download the entire live thing and then deselect all the stuff just to install msn messenger

No antivirus running on the exchange box. @pantscat its backing up to a SMB share on a Dell Server with a SAS Dell Storage Array 15 spindles Raid 10. Copying files manually it flies.

Ideally I need to be able to restore an individual email. I had just assumed that going from an old slow server with a raid5 to a server with dual 10ge network cards back to the network, FC San SAS R10 storage for the database, etc, would have improved perfomance of the backups. But its as slow as the previous mailserver. 150GB edb file
