Hi Guys, Me again ...... Im having a little problem with setting up a sorted shared area for students - i want the studentsa to be able to create folders, files and rename etc - but unable to do the same to other user created folders .. Is this something i can achive with AFP in server.app using ACL ? Ive tried all sorts of configurations - but it wither locks off full access or it seems to give them full access any help would be great Thanks
  13. Hi Guys, Ive done a new install with all Lion clients and a Mac mini server (Lion) for sending out preferences. All my standard preferences are working fine .. The School would now like me to set a background for all machines .... no problem within workgroup manager >> details >> adding in the managed.app items and then set the background in desktop file. This pushes out nice to all the machines .. One problem we have thou .. they would like to centre the background and then make the background desktop colour black . Ive recreated this on a machine and exported the .plist into WGM ... This thing doesnt send down the settings - Can anybody advise on a better way of Setting the background to the image in /Library/Desktop Pictures/music.png (this has been copied over to all machines) Setting the image to centered setting the background to Black I seem to have all the correct preferences set in the exported plist - but it dont want to play ball ... Hope somebody can point me into the right direction Thanks C
  14. Click the apple logo on one of the machines - click on about this Mac then click on more info >> scroll down to managed preferences and take a look at what you have here if anything. Also what binding setting have you got set under the Directory Utility ? could you screen shot it for me please.
