Just tried that as per suggestion and still no luck. Publisher closes on a nice error, but debug/error code messages googled yield nothing "Unexpected Closure"

I suppose the only way to test it is another machine with a different printer. We have a Magic Colour 2300W, shall try it on that and check. Possible causes: - Printer Drivers - Page layout - Font issues with the 2605 I guess I can troubleshoot these trying a different printer. Thanks for that advice Michael.

Hi All, We seem to be having a problem with Publisher 2003 at present. Students are creating "Bands" and need the associated literature, they are creating Contact Cards, Flyers/Posters and CD Covers in Publisher however the following happens. Contact Cards (Publisher default template) - Fails to print, Publisher closes on an error CD Covers (Custom template set by ICT teacher) - Fails to print, Publisher closes on an error Poster/Fly (Publisher default template) - Prints correctly Problem seems intermittent, last week Student A was able to print her CD Cover on Machine 8, however this week student A cannot print her CD Cover on Machine 8. Problem is affecting around 50 Machines in the ICT suites. Any ideas, or reason why it wont print some templates. (Printers Upstairs and Downstairs are both HP2605N's Thanks.

Iptables isnt defaultly installed with Ubuntu, I don't know why, you just have to apt-get install iptables to ensure it is installed. getgrnam(); error is a result of not having the group Squid, you may have only physically created squid user and not group, check both group/user are created.

I have the £35 month 8GB 3G iPhone as well, and after a week in Exmouth with extensive 3G usage checked my bill and nothing, so I inquired and its infact unlimited, which is all dandy. PS. + Lets not forget those menial tasks a school technician does as well. Projectors not working, IWB's, no power, no network, switches stalling, password resets, my excel document wont save, I cannot access staffroom, the printer isn't working, my password isn't working and I didn't forget it and all those other applications cloud computing cant control. Either in education or business establishments I don't think its going to affect systems that greatly. For home users perhaps, as you don't rely on IT support, if its broke you google and the likes, that's where cloud computing will kick off. But that's my opinion and the way I see it going.

And for that reason alone, this school certainly won't ever go down that line. Unless the supplier for the line be it fibre optic, ADSL, SDSL etc can honestly guarntee 100% not 99.9% connectivity at all times. Our school doesn't allow access onto the network without McAfee Spyware&AV + SiteAdvisor installed. NAC is the safest and easiest implementation of making sure the students are fully protected. AV/Spyware for all those baddies. Siteadvisor/Squid for all those web requests, theres nothing illicit or illegal they can do, and thats what we want for a boarding school. And the benefit of McAfee it runs on all OS, just different engines. We do have quite a few Mac users and quite a few Linux users

Easiest thing todo is use something like webmin, and install the squidguard plugin module, from there you get a GUI of sorts to block works including help files within the module Webmin && niemueller.de - webmin modules - SquidGuard Configuration I use DG so not familiar with SG, however same principles, DG has better regex's for controlling banned words. is blanket block, where isnt.
