I've had success with this by extracting the exe from inside the MSI - I grab it while it's installing, task manager will list it when running. Modify access given to all users for the custom location we install it to. Some updates are able to auto-update without issue, others require a full redeploy.

I've done this a lot in the following way: I use the Virtual Network Editor and create two VMnets One is bridged directly to my physical ethernet connection. The second is host only - untick Connect a host virtual adapter and untick use local DHCP service. Input the Subnet IP and mask details. My Router VM is connected to both VMnets All other VMs are connected just to the host only one. Configure the Router as appropriate. I use pfSense, so I configure: At the console: IP Subnet Mask Disable DHCP Revert to HTTP Configurator (yes) Via the Web interface: Hostname Domain TimeZone Install Open-VMTools Change Admin Password The default routing prevents the traffic from your lab spilling out onto your real physical network.

I've seen this before where stations had more than one version of Activ Driver installed at once.

In the GPO we set My Docs to redirect to the letter assigned in AD so if your AD home folder path looked like: N \\SERVER\YEAR 07\%USERNAME% The GPO for Documents would be N:\ Pictures would be : N:\My Pictures Downloads: N:\Downloads etc - with Windows creating the subfolders on first logon.

The group policy for that mentions Start Screen rather than Start menu. I have a sinking suspicion that it won't affect the Start Menu. I made edits and tried the same and looked in the XML file output and it had references to all the default tiles like Money. :/

I see this a lot and can usually fix it by disabling SNMP on the port itself. Printer Properties > Ports > Configure Port.

OneNote isn't much better on iPhone in terms of layout, but I'm yet to see a note taker with such functionality be easy to navigate on a small screen, it's a lot better on the iPad. Overall I'm using OneNote now as overall the apps suit me better than Evernote.

It's currently set to redirect to the home directory. Tried with both options unticked (already had exclusive rights unticked) Looked through event viewer on the client after a logon and all folder redirections are successful. EDIT: Tried a new user without the roaming profile and it worked. Now need to find what it is in the profile that is being saved that is preventing the correct folders being added. I've tried creating a new roaming profile that has the default locations in libraries removed but when another user logs in using it they don't get their redirected folders in the library view. Instead it just stays empty.

Hi all, Got a little test domain setup with Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 SP1. Users have roaming profiles. I have redirected their Documents folder to \\servername\username$ and set the music, pictures and videos folders to follow When looking at their home drive (N) these show perfectly. However, when clicking on the start menu links for Documents, Pictures and Music it shows the library view with only the C:\Users\username\Documents etc shown as the default save location - and unavailable. How can I get the libraries view to show the contents of their home directory folders? Can you tell them to look for \\servername\username$\documents etc?

Even these low low prices won't get me off my 1500+ hours of TF2
