Awesome, got the replacement part there. The data isn't SQL, its around 100,000-500,000 flat text files, encoded ANSI and varying in size between 11kb and 918kb. Need to pull majority of the data from the text files and print it in another program, however since the program doesn't understand what position limited files are it ignores what I need to select. Hence the "Selecting "string" if it matches field description" Would have to create three different VB scripts. 1) Select data only if in row DH for example and replace the data with another word, as the data is shortcode 2) Select data only if in row DH for example, calculate the date and show the Day 3)Select data only if in row DH for example, and show the data in column I confuse myself at times.

Anyone know where I can find some idiot proof VB instructions, usage, learning examples? Need to create a few VB actions for a project I'm currently working on, and have no idea where to start, The main functions I'd need to look at are; 1) If field begins with XX use the last 18 digits of the field. 2) Calculate day names based on dates. (If 12/07/2009 output Sunday) 3) Finally; Text replacement, if text = 123, replace with 345 but allowing for multiple text pieces. I.e. 123, 321, 132 etc So Text replacement, Date/Time Calculations, and If statements? Better examples; 1) If field begins with DH, copy 002001001001001001 and use that data, ignore the rest. Exactly what I researched a few months ago, was thinking about a career change, and paramedic is defiantly on the top of my "Want todo list" Even contacted local ambulance trusts and as Witch stated, the easiest way advised is a Foundation Degree, and volunteering at Red Cross as stated above. You than do training as an Ambulance Technician, and from there get the opportunity to drive an ambulance, should you pass advanced driving etc etc

If you do require a mechanic, find a dainty little one somewhere and try to get the price down. Garages charge around £40 an hour labour, charge for parts + 15% on top of part. Find out the problem and offer to get the part yourself, this will save you money. Otherwise offer any services you have and volunteer for work etc etc to get the price down. Diagnosing a fault wont take long, but the labour to replace the part might.

Or you can be adventurous in finding out what's wrong. Requires two people, and some tools. Take engine cover off and remove HT leads off one spark plug, remove the spark plug, you may need an extension bar and ratchet driver depending how far down the plugs go. Once the plugs out, plug the HT lead in again, rest it against something metal, (lie it on top of the engine) and get your mate/brother/father/mother, whomever to start the car. (DO NOT hold the HT lead) Check its sparking, simple turnover should suffice. Check all the plugs this way, if one isn't sparking its either the Plug or HT lead, diagnose further, swap the plugs around check its the plug and not HT lead, if another plug works, its the plug, if it doesnt spark its either HT lead or coilpack. Then swap HT leads around and check every terminal is firing, if plug wasnt sparking and HT lead swapped around to a working one and it doesn't spark, than you've got problems with coil pack, easily replaced, could do it yourself.

Very odd indeed. Does your car whine when you first start it? Like the fuel pumps turning on but doing nothing? Does the car move and drive in first gear? Can you turn it on an it stays on just idling? Reversing straight or turning when reversing? WAP54G - Cheap, cheerful and do the job very well. You can DD-WRT them as well and tie them all into Nagios or similar client given you a managed solution. All free as well, apart from the hardware that is. Takes a bit of time to get it all setup, but if you want to provide a fairish solution with a tin of beans, the above is one possible solution DD-WRT :: About the project as well as Open WRT http://openwrt.org/ Plenty to choose from Open WRT has a whole article somewhere explaining flashing all the hardware and creating a managed solution, web based etc etc.

The only dead zone from a directional antenna are too the sides, and right below it, I've more than tested it. Right below the access point is no problem as there wont need to be any coverage. There are fundamental gaps, as there are with anything. Who in there right might deploys a solution knowing everything is 100% covered, we're not employed on that basis we know everything about everything, more along the lines of a bit of everything and from there research/test/try/develop onwards. Synack has provided valuable help, clearing/explaining fundamentals I didn't quite understand. My fundamentals therefore are more clear now, and "any" contradictions cleared. What is a person that "REALLY" understands radio networking going to tell me that hasn't been covered, or due to be tested? Are you expert enough to undermine anything and state that what's posted, explained isn't adequate enough?

Currently looking at transmit power of 100mw or 18db from the AP toward 19db(i) Directional antennae. Using 802.11b. Sensitivity at 100m should equate to -67db which is a very usable signal I hope. Will have to test more indepth. RE: Directional antennae, I've tested these at 200m and get around -45-55db sensitivity, the margin for their direction is very slim. I'm talking moving one foot either side and you go to around -30db which is unusable. On a side note: There are partitions hence the directional antennae, signal doesn't travel too well down the back with omni aerials.

Was thinking about channels, and came up with the idea of using the four semi overlapping channels arrange in the order 7,1,10,4 along the back wall. However just read an overlapping whitepaper and 1,6,11,1 can be used provided space to stop interference. Going to have to test 7,1,10,4 and than 1,6,11,1 and see which is better. Any ideas for software to test such an experiment?

There is an alternate solution; running both systems in parralel. Grade 0-7 students are young enough to appreciate easier learner and more direct/educated learning. Have a look at the Sugar project for linux, designed with kids in mind. Who new interface with every assosciated application thrown in there. To be honest I'm quite impressed with what it does. Sounds like good advice. Any idea what the overlapping channels are? I know 1,6,11 in the UK are non-overlapping, but that only accounts for 3/4 channels needed, same SSID/WPA key will be used either way. Any idea for roaming change between access point? 1-5seconds? Less than 1 second? Roaming changes are the key here hence looking at some sort of "Mesh" we can't afford to lose any packets in anysense. The access points support IAPP as well as IEEE 802.11r which is fast roaming, however no mention of transistion timeframes. Cheers for the advice above.

Hi Folks, Quick query, hoping someone with experience or knowledge of the current situation could lend a hand/advice with a new setup. One x large building, measuring roughly 30x80m. We are soon to install a wireless system, and to ensure no loss of signal anywhere in the building will be running 4 x WDS enabled wireless access points centrally placed on back wall with high-gain directional antennae (2x per AP) running in series down the back wall point toward the front. My understanding of WDS is limited, all I know is the AP's need to run in Repeater mode rather than Bridging as bridging turns the AP off to client connections and rather acts as a signal repeater. So Repeater mode would need to be enabled. Now the query: 1) When Repeater mode is enabled, do the access points act alone regarding connections and routing, (If a laptop/device is connected via AP2, does AP2 route traffic to and from servers, or does it use a central Access point for all routing?) 2) If a laptop/device is connected via AP1, and moves over to AP4 (AP's support Fast Roam switching) does AP4 with Repeater mode route the signal via server or does it repeat the signal across say AP4 > AP2 > AP1 > Servers and than back again via that route?
