  1. I can't see this taking off other than in schools that are very well funded.
  2. https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-takes-aim-at-schools-consumers-and-businesses-with-surface-go-tablets-starting-at-399/ https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2018/7/9/17550252/microsofts-surface-go-tablet-10-inch-screen-399
  3. That does seem excessive. None of my users have ever gone over 10gb and that was just for a video project. Have they got lots of media files etc?
  4. My schools are a similar story with the performance being pretty dire. The product is not fit for purpose and has so many pre reqs and changes needed it's ridiculous. The whole product needs re doing from the ground up to make it just work in a browser!!!
  5. We've used Windows DVD maker in the past but you'll need a windows 7 PC for it.
  6. I have to say the Google FS is just so simple to roll out and for staff to use it's a real win win situation.

  12. Pleased to report our test migration worked ok. They do seem to be very busy as it took 45 mins to get through to support yesterday and currently still on hold for 30 mins and counting today!
  13. Updates are more in the backend management of them.
  14. There's a big difference between getting updates and getting product development as part of a licence.
  15. Just in case you haven't seen it the new wireless health section in the Meraki dashboard will give you a better picture of what's happening now. Might be useful in working out why they're dropping connection.
  16. Smart do sell a non touch screen that has built in wireless screen sharing. https://education.smarttech.com/en/products/2000-series The SMART Board 2000 series is designed for classrooms that need more than just a basic display. Wireless screen-sharing and non-touch design make the 2000 series perfect for showing lessons and presentations from all sorts of devices. 4K Ultra HD resolution makes those same lessons and presentations look amazing.
  17. We're in the same boat. The migration tool never seems to work and requires intervention from them. When you ring support it's a long wait! What are the alternatives?
  18. Meraki don't do a free version anymore only a trial. Cost is normally just over £4 per client per year. You may get better pricing for 100 licences. https://meraki.cisco.com/blog/2017/01/instant-systems-manager-free-30-day-trials/
  19. Any help here? https://documentation.meraki.com/MX-Z/Access_Control_and_Splash_Page/Troubleshooting_the_Splash_Page_Appearance

  22. I've used Hugh Symons for all of my schools for the last 10+ years and only had one or two issues which they've always resolved for us. Hugh Symons Audio Visual
