We use Trend Cloud as it integrates into Office 365 or G Suite so protects us from email attachments and links in emails etc. My opinion is you need something more than a solution that just sits on the LAN these days. If Ipads tick all their boxes then good luck to them, If Google tick all their boxes good luck to them. The important thing is that the students and teachers needs are being met. My schools choose whatever they want and it's my job to make it work for them. Ultimately teaching and learning should be the number one priority in any choice made.

We use Cisco Meraki at all my sites but if our budget was tighter we'd certainly be looking at Ubiiquiti as it seems to tick a lot of boxes. We chose Cisco Meraki as we wanted a single interface for switching, wireless and MDM. It also had to be something designed to manage multiple sites through a single login. Most people seem to be put off by the licencing but we pay about £160 per AP for 10 years.

Yes I would assume the same as you. I think they were thinking when pupils took the Ipads home and didn't have internet access they could still use the devices. I'd guess like you that most apps would need some connection to the cloud for saving scores etc. Also for MDM management etc.

Yes I would agree with that and it's something they would have to consider when choosing Ipads. Ipad pro could always be an option for staff if they need increased work space. Also addition of a keyboard or apple pen may be useful for staff. At my daughters college all staff and pupils have an ipad and use Google classroom for everything. She has never turned on the PC in her room at home and does everything on her Ipad. I asked her if her teachers had a pc as well and she said no, just an Ipad. Re analyse data some of my school use the "Target Tracker" app so I'm sure it can be done. I think if everyone goes in with their eyes wide open and are aware of what an Ipad can and can't do they should be ok.

We have every class wired the same. HDMI from touch screen to PC not using any face plates. Monitor to PC direct going via dvi, or dvi to hdmi or hdmi to dvi lead depending on connections. Audio is via powered speakers with a direct lead to sound card on PC. We then disable all other audio devices.
