It's seems happy with the file ending 16.2.notebook but not test.notebook. Test .notebook was originally called something else and I renamed it to test to see if the name was causing issues but it's definitely the file itself it doesn't like.

I'm not sure how realistic £300 is especially considering you may be adding an external mic, decent tripod etc. We have just purchased a fairly decent Canon one and the school will add the accessories as they can afford them but's it's important to make sure the camera is up to the job.

Hi, Since half term teachers are reporting that when attaching certain .notebook files they are being blocked. Other .notebook files seem to go through without issue. File sizes are small only a few mb. The notebook files seem to have nothing different in them than the files that it allows. Is there a way to white list .notebook attachments in G Suite?

Meraki are really CISCO and I'm confident they'll still be around in 10 years.

One year seems ridiculously short space of time. We rarely replace batteries and are all Dell.

For me we are paying to guarantee a reliable, up to date and secure Wi-Fi network with top notch support. It works out about £16 a year with a 10 year licence so needs to be considered. Also if you have a ten year licence and after seven years you want to replace with a newer 802.11 XXX or whatever is around then the remaining three years can move to the new AP. I can't see us having the same Wi-Fi network in 10 years, but if we do we may chose to continue with the same APs for 1,3,5,7 or 10 years. The build quality is second to none so I'm confident it will last and if it doesn't Meraki will ship me one which does, which more than likely would be a new model as well. Just to add we also have Cisco Meraki Switches and Meraki MDM which we manage all through the same interface in the cloud.

You can just renew the licence and carry on using as another option. We plan to just extend a few a few AP licences and then replace the oldest APs or buy new APs with new 10 year licences. My viewpoint comes from Primary schools so maybe different from yours. Staff only really use apps in my schools and I've recommend quite a few apps to them. Other app choices come from staff returning from courses, or just apps that support the software they already have Smart Notebook, Target Tracker etc. Where staff want a new app it would generally be of use for others so I purchase one copy, assign to their Ipad. If they app works well we purchase more and distribute to everyone else. No experience of purchasing books and my comments related just to apps.

I assume they would be using the last free version (11.4) or paying Smart for the software. It is much more expensive to purchase if you don't have mostly smartboards in your school.

We have dell managed laptop carts and they have no timing functionality. Dells website says the battery can not be overcharged. We also have trolleys in other schools with timers. It has made no difference to our battery life whether they are plugged in 24/7 on charge or on a timer. We have about 400 dell laptops. Think modern lithium ion batteries are much better at self management. What make and model are the laptops, perhaps others have had similar experiences.

If they are apps that staff need to do their job and agreed by SMT etc then the school should be purchasing for them anyway. If they have paid for apps for their own personal use then that would be down to them. They would still own those apps under their personal apple id if they ever left your employment. It's easy enough to buy new apps through VPP but would be worth finding out if everyone needs the apps etc or just a few people. Apple 50% app price reduction only kicks in after purchasing 20 apps.

Surely they would only need the apps that the school provide for them so they can deliver lessons or administer their pupils etc. They should all be provided by the school and be no requirement for a personal itunes account IMO.

To save on space we have excluded media files from the azure backup which shouldn't be there anyway, we have nas boxes for that.

We use it to back up our important drives and originally it wouldn't backup system state but now it says it can. We are small junior and infant schools and pay between £150 a year to £300 a year per site. It's a god send for us as gives us offsite encrypted backups. We have it run three times a day and run our normal backup to tandberg rdx every day. Also as an added benefit when schools ring me and ask me to recover data I don't have to wait while someone finds the correct tape etc and has saved me a number of visits to sites.

I would guess they shouldn't be using water as what could be a small fire that could have been put out with minimal damage would end up being a total disaster if the sprinkler system gets activated and destroys everything! Fire Suppression Systems for Server Rooms and Data Centres

I've just updated my Ipads to ios 11.0.3 and the apple apps that previously would not install now seem to be installing. We are using Meraki MDM.
