Is the current agreement due to finish? The agreement is really with Microsoft not the re seller. If you're half way through a three year agreement I don't think you could change it as you would signed at the start with MS for the length of the agreement. May be wrong.

Chrome is really easy to deploy you just put it out and let it take care of itself. I've got it at 9 sites and it's never really given us any hassle. Most people over the years have just naturally switched to Chrome as it just works.

Yes I think you're correct you can open and read docs but without an office 365 subscription etc you can't create and edit.

Is the problem more because they are using drives not team drives?

We chose Trend AV as it does the clients, can integrate into office 365 or G-Suite and protects against data loss, encrypted emails etc etc..

I've been back to the sites this week that migrated to Libresoft. Both schools are very happy. They have had lots of questions for Libresoft and they've been really quick and responsive. There were a few minor issues after the migration with a couple of duplicated books, thats it.

The Airserver software is pretty good. Not that expensive and you can restrict who can cast to it etc.

Google Team Drives + Google File Stream may be a better fit for what your after.

Yes it would effect all office products. Newer drivers, or older sometimes and combination of firmware update to the printer all may help. Good luck.

What happens if you change the default printer? Does it only crash when that printer is selected?

I'd love to see how many of these people have ever changed their mind on this. I'd imagine once they've convinced themselves the earth is flat, no amount of evidence would change their minds.

We use join.me app in some schools. Allows staff to share their screen and then pause for any email checking etc. Some of our pupils are given Ipads so can pinch and zoom etc to read the text. Funding is an issue and most of the solutions I come up with have no funding.

We just use amazon.

I'll rephrase this "it doesn't do a ton of extra stuff" to "it doesn't to a ton of extra stuff that companies seem to think they need, but don't actually need"

Our school library service recently did a showcase of 10 suppliers and this was what my schools liked the look of. It doesn't do a ton of extra stuff, but does function as a good library system which is all they really wanted.
