Anyone know how I can get access to my photos off the phone? The phone is stuck at the Google coloured dots bit. It's been stuck there for nearly 24hours. I can't afford to lose them before I factory reset the phone.

Any help with decision making, speed, Internet connection speeds required etc.. Do you use firefly in the cloud already, are you happy with it?

Configurator will auto upgrade the latest iOS if you select the option in configurator to do so. If you restore a backup then you don't need to do anything with the iPad, configurator will do the rest.

We do exactly what you want. We create the profile with settings/restrictions on, also apps etc then prepare it to all iPads. Then you can backup a single iPad using Configurator and assign the backup to restore every time you plug it into the usb. We also set the naming convention for iPads using configurator. We have an AP in every room. Thick walls being an old school. We have in total 95. The overlap is not a real issue, and don't forget that the ruckus system is designed to load balance across multiple APs if the signal is strong enough. The 7363s in theory should connect 60 clients but we like to think a class of 30 would cope without issues. We have had no issues so far and we are still sitting on 9.6 firmware.

Planet eStream, it's expensive to buy outright but for what it does its a no brainer!! We had a demo a few days, unbelievable what it can do!! To buy outright with the freeview module and if you specked a decent server you are talking for education around £15,000. £799+vat each year for support and updates. Just got to find 15k!!

Not just pictures but all docs, I have setup a mail account that all iPads will email to a single address in the contacts list, attachment linking will strip out attachments from emails and then a script will run to move the attachments to a shared folder. Our mail server is mdaemon.

In other words look and investigate into the "flipped classroom". If this is something achievable, getting teachers onboard is harder than students, then it's worth the investment. I wish I had the opportunity to be taught with technology back in the 90's.

We had a plan where we were going to go BYOD as part of long term ICT strategy. We planned/introduced in the following order: 100mb leased line Smoothwall Ruckus WiFi Network (includes network switching upgrades) Firefly VLE Introduce BYOD to year 7 as compulsary (so in five years all pupils will have mobile access) Your VLE should be heart of you decision. It's your centralised platform for learning/homework etc.

Not to mention the app hates network home drives!! Throws a wobbly everytime. The app is not required when you can set your server to auto sync data from a persons home folder to their gdrive.

If you are thinking of using 10.10 and server 4 then please text it on a CM or spare Mac first. I'm having terrible issues with it. Initial config is ok. I can't delete a device from Profile Manager, get a server error The devices stay as placeholders and will not receive any profiles. My text environment is a fresh install on formatted disk of 10.10 new server 4.

Can anyone shed some light as to why all my devices are still place holders? See below Does it have anything to do with an error in the logs relating to "auth_token doesn't exist" then next line reads "filter chain halted as verify_auth_token rendered or redirected"

Workgroup manager 10.9 still works on Yosemite though.

The only way around it is to replicate the full folder structure that is created when an AD user logs in. I would script it on a windows server to loop through each user home directory and create the folder structures. I haven't done it on mass yet but in theory is should work Or I can wait until Yosemite server and upgrade the server and clients.

I have issues where a user logs in and it creates the relevant folders like Library, Documents, Desktop in the users home folder, but doesn't follow windows ACLs so when I browse the folder in a windows server I get permission denied even though the permissions are correct. If the user puts files/folders on the Mac desktop they go invisible, if I reset the permissions on windows and the folder reappears. Would love an answer

Does any one know why an AD user logins and is always asked to sign in to the App Store even though I have explicitly denied access to App Store in WGM and denied access to the App Store folder.....

I have a 4s and I have to say it's the worst iOS yet for responsiveness and battery life. I used to be able to 16-17 hours a day now it's down to around 10-12, so nearly 30% down. I just hope 8.1 update at the end of October will addresses issues. My feeling is Apple have done this on purpose to force through a phone upgrade, but I'm sticking with my 4s @ £9 month.

Camera roll videos are MP4 format, so if you AirPlay it out make you have installed QuickTime only. We didn't bother with any other recommended software. Works we for us!!

Hi, I have now sorted it, what I had to do is delete the Open Directory master, make sure all Certs are in place, reset profile manager and turn on device enrolment, which will recreate a master OD, and all now works!!

I can't enroll any device iMacs or iPads because I get the error on OSX when installing the enrolment profile: 'profile installation failed - Authentication challenge failed'. And on iPads the error is: 'the server certificate for {server} is invalid'. Any help please?

Yep, do it through iTunes if you don't have much space left
