  1. Use "ip helper-address" thus helping the vlan to a dhcp server of your choice
  2. Do it via your VLE if they have a form-based page that will allow multiple submissions like our Firefly does.
  3. We pay around 10,000 a year for firefly, self hosted, parent portal, mobile device apps, support etc...
  4. We have 16 of 2920 (24 port PoE) as edge switches, working a treat! 2920 can be used as core switches be we bought 2x 5406zl for our cores, monsters!! Expect to pay around £850-£1000 per 2920 switch.
  5. I decided to write my own windows service, and associated programs. All managed by an ASPX web interface. What started as a WOL project became more of a task manager type thing where we scan PCs for hardware details, WOL, shutdown PCs, run VB scripts for other jobs etc...
  6. Hi, Yes Id just come across that setting and we have set it 1440 mins (24 hours) simply because we have people that do a specific job (externally) once a day. But thanks for the suggestion anyway...
  7. Hi, This is a strange one but ever since we upgraded from 9.6 to 9.8 a guest access user is forced to put in the WiFi key every time it re-connects back to the guest WiFi. For example, when a guest user walks out of the WiFi range and back into range it connect to the guest network but the on-boarding portal comes back up asking them to insert their WiFi key. Each key we generate doesn't have an expiry session enabled (force re-login after time period) so I would expect the key to stay permanently like a conventional WiFi network. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks
  8. We paid with installation planning, 5 year support, 97 APs, 2 controllers, 150 AP Licences, for our ruckus solution total cost £55,000 We also quoted Meru but came in at £100,000 for same Ruckus solution above. We made the right decision and has been so far flawless for 2 years.
  9. Students should always try to work as if in the real world. So FTP is a must to a remote web server.
  10. Ever thought of dropping the radius server? We don't use one and our AD - SW - Ruckus works just fine. We use the accounting server option in ruckus to auth all users devices. Staff pass through smoothwall and pupils are forced to login to apply specific web filter policies.
  11. We don't have any issues with our upgrade as yet, software runs ok, speed as per before, running our 2008 R2 server on a VM. We paid for SQL 2014, thus no limitations that could trip us up.
  12. Just done my SQL 2014 today with no redirection. Pretty smooth but a few things happened. The Intouch key was wiped out in SIMS so called support for a new one. And migration screwed up SSM from loading re-install did the trick and re download packages. Also moved SOLUS3 and changed configs manually to new instance, everything is now running smoothly so far!
  13. If you would like an HP example file and you could adapt it to suit, please get in touch tomorrow and I'll happily send one over
  14. Two things: in SSM don't use Windows auth, use an SQL account. Then restart the services for both teacher app services in SSM. If you want to create a user then please contact me tomorrow and I'll be happy to help.
  15. I dont have any issues here....we moved to foxit pdf reader
  16. Hi, Has anyone managed to to get auto server working on iPads and windows desktop? And also can someone explain why I have to enter in two different manual server address on iOS and windows. iOS: https://webdir.online.lync.com/Autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/Root Win: sipdir.online.lync.com:443 I'm baffled, so what is the actual auto server address it is suppose to use?
  17. 10.10 suppose to have fixed this issue of permissions. Not noticed an issue as yet
  18. Sorry to but in but this isn't your only problem, if you get it working Google will not sync existing passwords but only new password changes. So every user will have change their password, wait a few seconds then change it back. I wish someone would correct me and tell me it can different

    Upgrading MacBook

I used the Samsung 840 Evo, but the 850 Pro is the daddy. I'm sure i don't need to mention this but always check the read write speeds before buying, the samsungs are top end at around 550 read/470 write.
  20. Back in September Microsoft announced they were giving it to schools for free. The office 365 for students or faculty is the equivalent to at least an E3 license.
  21. Simple as that, then login to admin side and you will see the magic licenses appear

  23. We are still open to an O365 option aswell, dont suppose you have any brief instructions? In terms of span control and filtering what do you get? And are you able to see transaction logs for all IN/OUT mail? Thanks
  24. Has any done this as yet with hundreds of users? What instructions did you follow? Any advice would be grateful....Thanks
  25. Anyone experiencing isses or great things from using 9.9 or 9.10 firmware? We want to upgrade but is it really worth it if there are no great must have features. We have APs supported under 9.10 so no issues with upgrating the APs if we had to... Any advice would be greatful...
