    Osx server or not?

Don't suppose you have the DMG file for wgm 10.9? I can find the download page on apples site but there isn't a download link. Any ideas?

    Osx server or not?

Great thanks. Can policies apply to active directory users? In Workgroup Manager (WDM) do I have to list users or is it a case of binding AD and the magic happens?

    Osx server or not?

We currently have a few macs that I have setup to allow windows logins. The users library files are stored in their home directory, this is all default basic things. But after a while they fail to login for two reasons: the time is different than than a windows DC and users turn on wifi which confuses the wired connection, thus logins don't work. Also when using safari or chrome I get constant proxy auth boxes popping up, and to get around this I had to use an NTLM proxy product called AuthProxy. My question is: If have a mac server can I have policies for windows logins to restrict preferences etc, will it solve the proxy issues without a nocked up solution. What other benefits will I get running a server with macs as a posed to standalone macs.
  4. We are after super brightness, screen size of around 120", 4k ready, 3D
  5. Hi folks, Are you using a true 3D projector with glasses etc if so could you advise me with make/models. I've seen one so far NEC PA671W. That does 3D with max screen size 500" and 6700 lumens, about £3.5k
  6. Yep have to agree another way of blocking :-) +1
  7. If you buy an A3 licence for all your faculty staff, Microsoft will give all your students a free license. It works superb on an iPad and now with one note working for one drive business, office is a great tool to use
  8. If you don't cache it then also throttle your users traffic, that is what we do for our wifi pupils.
  9. Your very welcome, future ruckus users take note, please use the guide that a user had created and also refer to this post. You will get there in the end!! Good luck and good night!!
  10. Also on smoothy you need the following: System >> Administration >> External Access Interface | Source | Service | Enabled Port 1-2_PupilWIFI | 10.82.0.0/21 | other web acess on HTTP (80) | Enabled Port 1-2_PupilWIFI | 10.82.0.0/21 | other web access on HTTPS (442) | Enabled As before change 10.82.0.0/21 for your ip network address
  11. Try this Login to your ZD. Go to configure guest access then under restricted subnets put in the subnet The destination address to your range to wish to access. For example our rule is: Description access to pupils gateway address is 10.82.0.1/32 to any application to any protocol to any destination. Save Make sure it sits at the top above the deny rules. 10.82.0.1 is the vlan IP address of our pupil wifi interface setup in smoothy
  12. Ah yes smoothy login page is 442, didnt read it carefully.
  13. Do you mean 443 not 442? 443 is default https port
  14. Make sure that your VLAN IDS on the switch match those you have setup as your smoothwall interfaces.
  15. I like the ability to run, install, manage all our own services. Had experience of RM and don't like it, would never work with RM again.
  16. Sounds strangely backwards, not sure...
  17. Yeah makes sense, we use 10.0 for all wifi devices and 172 for domain static devices, but I'm sure L3 only makes this possible. You should be ok to vlan using same range on 1.0
  18. The way we do it is via a core layer 3 switch which allows inter-vlan routing. Each edge switch has a default gateway which is the IP set on the core switch port to which the edge switch is connected to. Then off top of my head I'm sure on our core switch we set static routes and rules for vlans. Without being at work I can't go through it with you in detail, plus we installed it over a year ago and haven't touch the networking since, because it works. I will try to familiarise myself again with how everything comes together and get back to you...
  19. If you use smoothy as your dhcp do your laptops get an ip?
  20. All switches that the AP has to travel through have to have their uplink ports TAGGED with the all VLANS associated with your wifi including the ZD VLAN.
  21. Then once you have done all that you will need to setup access to servers on your smoothwall for which wifi networks need access like VLE, mail etc...
  22. Problem you have if you encrypt a file , for a server to decrypt and process it, it will need the key you encrypted it with. So people can easy write out your decrypted file to a text file. Give PHP BLENC a try.
  23. We have switched on science and had to change each BAT with full UNC paths to the Doc/PDF files. Works fine for us after this
  24. What ever happened to good old record a conversation by mobile phone to catch him in the act? It's what I would do if i suspected any foul play by my boss.
