1) Primary, managed sets of iPads & Secondary, BYOD 2) teachers were given an incentive to buy and use an iPad. 3) we use then mainly for use with our VLE firefly. There is a student app for both iOS and Android. 4) our junior school iPads are managed by AppleConfigurator. We don't managed the senior school devices. 5) iPads are child friendly for junior school, and can be locked down, and because staff use their own iPad they are familiar with the devices.

Has anyone else noticed that you can limit the number of devices per user but bypass it by using upper case letters in you AD username. For example: Register one devices using "test.pupil" Register another using "Test.Pupil" You can use any case combination!! I have logged it with ruckus so should have an answer soon

Nic lights are flashing green as expected. Both VMs are on the host are vSwitched to separated vlans of which both nic are connected to. Both VMs work on the correct ip setup and according to my switch the port vlans are still the same as before. Strange thing is that it was working for months then after a reboot stops. Any one got a quick guide to setup ILO easily.

Everything is on screen and management IP is setup as before, checked nothing has changed. The server is using two NICs one each VLAN. Could it be the etc/hosts file causing the problem. We don't use ILO, is it worth it?

True, but if they had a network login to go with sims login then they are in regardless if locking down sims on c drive :-)

Doesn't matter if pupils have access to sims on c drive because they don't have a sims user login. Yes I would lockdown permission to your mapped sims drive/share. Then go ahead and install on any PC.

Just to add we initially signed up before the upgrade then a month ago we we're converted over to the new blue nab bar interface as described in the after service upgrade.

Updates won't install unless you have at least 50% battery life. Check that they are all fully charged. Also try the update via iTunes on windows PC to see if the same error occurs.

In my experience if the boards contact points are damaged then the controller is irrelevant. If you screw a board to tightly to an uneven wall, then you run the risk of twisting the board and damaging the contacts. Just a simple reset on the controller can help with holding correct alignment. Also note, if the SC12 has old firmware it can cause visible jumps onscreen when writing in notebook.

Login is fine, strange! I don't have access to a page like you do on an ipad, on the blue nav bar I can tap on skyydrive or my site but both take me to my share point site. We have the A2 licencing.

Hi, thanks for the info. We are an independent school which has introduced firefly VLE and we are looking to do everything in the cloud to offload the onsite services. We currently use mdaemon for our mail server and I would been looking to move our mail domain to either gmail or outlook. I assume I can only use one with the existing domain because we can only point the DNS to one ip. We also use shared calendars and folders. The draw back of office 365 is the fact that you cannot create a spreadsheet or presentation via web apps. You have to upload the file first before you can open it. Where as google docs will allow creation. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Ideally we need someone to talk about the pros cons. We are based in the stoke-on-Trent area. Not to mention the whole backup issues, to backup google apps over the cloud for 1000 users costs around 25,000 a year!! We don't want to backup on site due to bandwidth on the network and the need for lots disk storage. I really comes down to being able to use tablets and associated apps. So far we have used the google apps sync tool to recreate our AD structure, users and groups. But like you say, passwords are not transferable. Seems easy to manage once up. In a nut shell from the student/teaching side. VLE is the core, it does allow google apps and office 365 file integration. So the choice is down to features either provide a and ease of use. Then with regards mail, I'm not sure if there is a real benefit to moving on the cloud because of the costs involved to backup. The SMT would like to collaborate but currently think google docs feature set is poor, when working on iPads. If you can through anything else into the equation then please do. Thanks
