  1. I have spent to long looking at this now, I have managed to get the newest version of help desk all setup and working as far as I can tell, but here is where I am now stuck. Staff can create tickets and I can see and update them. I can create tickets but do not seem to be able to make it so the relevant staff members can see my newly created ticket. The "show to" box is starts empty, i have tried adding usernames, email addresses and groups but with no luck. Can anyone help?
  2. You just need to add the squid package from the web interface.
  3. Tried a lot of different options to achieve this. In the end I went with PFsense which is free and simple to setup and configure.
  4. We gave up on this setting as it seemed unreliably, we now just deploy proxy via a regeit done at gpo level.
  5. +1 from me using there ac points and nether had any problems. Dont know about the other points but the AC model also has a pass through network port which is very handy for old school builds, just slice a network cable put 2 rj45s on then plug it in.
  6. I ran into this problem in my secondary school, speaking to our provider they offered some more address but not in a concurrent range. I ended up setting up pfsense on a cheap hp micro server with two nics, and setup nat, i am now able to use the 172.16.x.x range on my internal network but still access our provider via a 10.0 range. also no have better logging of what is going in and out from the network.
  7. Nice to see another person who likes doing stuff just for the fun of it:)
  8. waunwheelerslogo - McD.zipHere is my attempt at a vector of that image.
  9. Wow that is impressive.
  10. 10 year old VW still going strong.
  11. We used this blog entry it might be some help to you. Network Management: Deploying Windows 7 to a domain
  12. Ours went fine we have a .co.uk address. Think we just provided address and web page address.
  13. We have terminal server set-up which does work well but there is a per user connection cost, so have now set up openVPN on a cheap desktop machine on a linux server. Each staff laptop (which is encrypted) is configured to access the vpn and so far it has been a great success for sims and network shares and outlook, all for free apart from cost of a machine.
  14. Check the 'Share permission' are not set to the default read only.
  15. I would suspect a mac address block within the wireless controller, try connecting one of them to any old stand alone wireless AP you have lying around.
  16. We are running a standard quad core AMD with 16 gig of ram on a standard desktop board, running windows server hyper-v. works lovely for our Unify, opennas, temporary backup server, web site, and a few other servers without any problems. Running mirror raid on the drives for redundancy. Would not recommend WDS on it as network speed may be a problem without some expensive network cards.
  17. May be a stupid reply but have you tried looking in the 'Shares and Storage Management' on the server holding the shares.
  18. Not as simple as you request but I use K9 (K9 Web Protection - Free Internet Filter and Parental Control Software | Free Internet Filtering and Parental Controls Software) on my boys machine. It is free for home use simple install and works well.
  19. Very late to party here but thought I might add. Feel free to correct me but i believe the very old Asus eee 2g surf nettops were based on a 2gig ssd which out of the 35 we bought coming up to 5 years ago we have had not a single failed unit (apart from a few broken screens and keyboards).
  20. Loved it.
  21. Thank you for your help anyway, i will attempt to fix it on my own when i have more time. Have to say it is a very good system, Thank you.
  22. Yes there is a ticket with 5 as the id, the error occurs on any ticket I try not just 5.
  23. Thank you for the quick responce. Managed to locate the issue to a webdav issue, I have removed webdav and am now getting a different error: PUT https://www.theroseland.cornwall.sch.uk/hap/api/HelpDesk/AdminTicket/5?%222013-06-10T12:24:23.479Z%22 400 (An WCF Error has Occured) send b.extend.ajax $.dialog.buttons.Update s.click b.event.dispatch v.handle {"Message":"Index was outside the bounds of the array.","Detail":null,"FaultType":"IndexOutOfRangeException"} Does this mean anything to anybody? John
  24. Loving the new look home access plus, but are having a few problems with the setup and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Help Desk, I am able to create tickets with no problems but when ever I try to update them nothing happens, it all seems to go as it should, the box pops up and asks for the update message and goes away with no error message when I click update, but no changes are made to the ticket. any help anybody could offer me would be appreciated. John
