1. Sorted thanks.
2. Thanks but it is still asking for a login. I don't have a web.config file in the bookingsystem folder and if I put this in the main web.config it still asks me to log in. This site has only an https binding and the hapfolder is the root of the site.
3. I had some of these and they are a real nightmare to get hold of the parts. I think I found one on ebay but the price was about the same as you've been quoted. I don't think you'll be able to source much cheaper than that TBO
4. Basically as the title says. I would like to be able to embed a booking overview for the week without having the user log in. Could I do this with a second instance of HAP somehow?
5. We have one as an analysis report if this helps. You may need to edit slightly HP total by date and house (all students.zip
6. Yes or get free app alternatives in post above http://www.edugeek.net/forums/netbooks-pda-phones/127931-help-me-create-ultimate-pros-cons-list-i-pad-android-win8-1-learnpad-post1093441.html#post1093441
7. For android it is possible to lockdown. Free app available although I haven't tried https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tabpilot.browser Edit this one has a feature to lockdown apps too https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vionika.mobilement
8. I've seen this sort of thing before but only with office 2010 and old graphics drivers. 2013 uses the gpu a lot more but afaik this feature should be disabled on win7 (according to microsoft). If there are graphics driver updates available it may be worth trying but I've been unable to replicate. Does it matter which method is used to maximize the window (i.e. Drag to top of screen, press the maximize button etc)
9. Can you post those attachment images again? I can't view them for some reason.
10. You can try this Delete files older than x-days - Cleanup Script But take a look at this as well Powershell script wont execute as Windows Scheduled Task - Stack Overflow I've had this running successfully in the past but don't try it with a UNC path in the location as it slows to a crawl.
11. Good point. Would have to limit it to corridors and blurring the Room ID plates (ICT1 etc). Nothing of any importance would be shown then, could even photoshop out the alarm sensors if it was thought to be an issue.
12. That's pretty cool. I was looking at doing this with the school. Should be fairly straight forward according to the api reference but I would obviously have to take all the photos in holiday time and they've been kind of full with other more important jobs. Would love to get this started though.
13. Could this be related to the location settings of the sims shortcut. On our systems at least it runs SIMSLOAD.exe first which is unnecessary if you have Solus 3 running. You need to make sure it points to Pulsar.exe instead which is tacked on the end of the location. Try editing the shortcut in the program data folder to just pulsar.exe and see if it deploys then. I'm unable to test this myself as I'm still waiting for my microsoft licenses to come through (they got my email address wrong again!)
14. Have found my answer. change this in web.config
15. I have searched all the other threads that relate to this but I can't find anything that relates to my problem. I have https only access to the site and when I navigate to /api/setup I get the following errors alternately I had a working V8 on this same server with the same configuration so I'm at a loss to see what was changed. When I upgraded I made a backup of the whole HAP folder and started from scratch. I haven't copied my config back yet so this is just like a fresh install. When I put my version 8 files back as active it all works again. From the error above if I change the following to
the error at least goes away but the service status says endpoint not found of course. Any help greatly appreciated
16. @Femi how did you solve this. I'm getting this error on upgrade to 9.7
17. Use Eclipse.net here and works very well also. Can customise the default view to include the AR reading levels very easily. OT slightly @Edu-IT Full silverlight management not available in Eclipse.net for us yet (hosted inhouse) but we use the silverlight front end and circulation app and it works no trouble. Actually silverlight uses less server resources than the older ASP pages.
18. I'm finding that I have to deploy it now as we've just managed to get some HP laptops that are bios locked (secure boot and no obvious way to disable) to windows 8. This means I have had to update my WDS server to 2012, which is quite pleasant really, and get to grips with uefi deployment, which is not so pleasant. Has anybody managed to get an MDT2012 Litetouch image to uefi boot on a machine with secure boot?
19. Do you have an exchange server? Can be done with google apps and exchange but if it's just a shared calendar internally this may be more difficult
20. You can use a scheduled task for this if it is only for your students but it will probably need to be setup to run at log on and then repeated every hour until log off. If it's absolutely necessary to run it between those times you can create an item level target for a time frame. You can copy and paste the following into the Group Policy Preferences scheduled task dialog and edit as needed. Remember to edit the author section in red to your user before pasting. {domain}\{user} Run a file at logon during a certain time of day %LogonDomain%\%LogonUser% InteractiveToken LeastPrivilege PT5M PT1H false false IgnoreNew false false false false true false PT0S 7 true %LogonDomain%\%LogonUser% PT1H P1D false myfile.exe

Java updates

They are usually security fixes. It is a pain that they need to release them quite so frequently. I have turned off auto update by removing the registry entries and I only install a newer version when I reimage. Some companies are offering a patch management software that will handle this sort of thing and I have just enabled it on our sophos install. Haven't had time to test yet however but the theory is it monitors for the updates and silently installs them when it encounters one.
22. @Max_Power I've re-done the report as a department list instead, this way it doesn't single people out but still gets the message across
23. Thanks for all your input. I've managed to get myself a spot in an SLT meeting to demonstrate what this software can do for the department spends. Hopefully along with the top ten list in the staff room they will see how much this area could be improved by a proper management system.
24. As the title suggests really. We are looking to purchase papercut for the school to try and help with reducing printing costs. I currently have a demo running and I'm really impressed with the advanced reporting features and I have been displaying a Top 10 Polluters list on the staff room signage which is designed to shock people into printing less. What I really want to know though is have any of you got a record of the percentage saving you have managed to make over a year using the software compared to before. I just want to see if I can work out a time scale for the software to pay for itself through the reduced costs. Thanks
25. Response back from the science teacher who has been trialling it is positive, no sign of slow down when using the camera or any other apps that he is now keen to demo to the students (including a decibel meter that he can now demonstrate distances from sound source with). Don't think the serial number will be a problem as he only uses the one machine and takes it with him to other rooms.
