Thanks @minimoo I have a further issue on this though that staff can overwrite others bookings i.e. they appear to the system as admins. Is there anything I can do to find out why this is? Edit: Actually I've just discovered this as an error on one of my web.config files.

I have a problem with the room booking process. A lot of our staff are a bit click happy and due to the small delay in the booking system refreshing they are booking a resource for the same lesson. Instead of the system saying that a lesson exists it will book them in the next lesson instead. In the bookings.xml I have duplicate entries like the ones below I'm guessing this is something to do with my config (unless there is no code to prevent this) but I've yet to work out what it is. Any help gratefully received as the only workaround I can see at the moment is to tell staff to have more patience and we know that won't work.

There is a very strange folder setup in that new update. You have nested folders of booking system and it's the second set i.e. you need to extract the files in bookingsystem/bookingsystem/* to get the update.

^this Windows server backup is very fussy about what it will allow you to backup to.

I just tried myself and powerpoint did give me a blank page too. Opening a word doc with powerpoint works though. give that a go :-)

@Novalee Do you have any version of acrobat? if you do you can export as html and import to powerpoint as same. Few layout issues but they can be sorted

I've set this up side by side with V9 and most parts are working without hitch but the booking system will not load the bookings into the grid. The weekview and day view work fine just the main page where the actual bookings can be made. Chrome developer tools gives me 2 errors on this page although the line references will change depending on the number of defined resources (This is with a single room as a test): Line 291 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier Line 294 Uncaught ReferenceError: resource is not defined (anonymous function) I think I have traced the second error to an unassigned value in the resource variables named 'rooms'. I have put below the code that it applies to. Line 291 contains this function resource(name, type, years, quantities, readonly, multiroom, maxlessons, rooms, disclaimer, canshare, notes, allowance) Line 294 has this with the empty brackets in red that I think may be causing the problem. new resource("Test", "Room", [ "Year 7", "Year 8", "Year 9" ], [ "20" ], false, true, "0",[color=#ff0000] [ ][/color], "", false, false, null) There doesn't appear to be a place in the config for this.

I agree with others on here. No access to command prompt for standard users, however I have a loophole here that I can exploit if necessary to troubleshoot. There are some advanced security option you can set for this as well. It means that you can have UAC enables for student account but in effect disabled for your use if you find it a little annoying. In group policy under Security Setting/Security Options at the bottom are some UAC options. The interesting ones here are about Admin Approval Mode so you can prevent the consent box from appearing and just elevate anyway. You can also deny standard user from receiving any prompts and automatically deny requests however I have found this can be a little restrictive if you need an elevated cmd to troubleshoot a problem.

I've just decided it would probably be a good idea to take a 'fix all' usb drive with me so at the moment I have put UBCD on Ultimate Boot CD - Overview and made it bootable. I have added a couple of tools I use quite often (trace32 for reading log files a little easier and ccleaner) but want to get some more input as to what you would add. Had thought about dual booting it with winrm but this is on the WDS server already so not really be a huge advantage having it portable as well (always be able to find a network socket in any room at the school)

I'm going tomorrow but usually things are gone by the time I get there. Last year was a very disappointing haul. I'm determined to get more this year no matter what it takes. I have a small issue where I have added some bookings. I use the AD info field (Telephone/Notes field in user properties of AD) to populate student tutor groups and staff for our Library system. For staff I use the word STAFF in uppercase so that we can differentiate them when running reports. The problem I have is that HAP picks up this field as the display name for the booking system. This means that all of my booking are displayed like this which is a little ambiguous and makes it quite difficult to see at a glance who has the room booked. If I remove the field from AD, HAP then picks up the display name of the staff member so I get this... Is there something I can change to correct this?

Thought I'd have a look at this over the weekend so downloaded the demo and after a couple of short runs downloaded the full game and expansion from steam. I can't believe how addictive it is. My wife is now a Eurotruck widow.

Just discovered this when adding a new room to the booking system. If you have a punctuation or bracket character in a booking resource name the periods do not populate in the booking view. When the brackets were removed from the name it all worked fine again. Tried with various other characters and same thing happens. May not be a fixable thing but thought I would just let you know.

I would say £30 is reasonable for that, I generally charge between 25 and 40 for os install depending on the version (how many times it will need to reboot for windows updates is a good indication as the older the system the more updates are required). You have to think about the actual time spent working on the computer and not how much time the task actually take. For example I'll charge £15 for a virus and spyware scan and fix as it's a set it and leave task.
