  1. Am I a Man or am I a...
  2. I too have the calibre software alongside my kindle. Works a treat. I've even typed up a script in word and put it on there to help with play rehearsals (much easier to glance at a kindle than leaf your way through a book to find your place.)
  3. I don't have access to that option hence I have had to leave it with the provider. Thanks anyway
  4. Didn't work for me. I've got the ISP looking into this now as it only happens with youtube and they can replicate it on their system too.
  5. Have a Fortigate 110C appliance that runs our internet filtering/firewall. Currently access to youtube.com is blocked for students but if they put in https://youtube.com it's lets them access the whole site unfiltered. Does anyone have any suggestions for this. Block for youtube still lets through https. The SSL certificate for youtube is for *.google.com but putting a block in for that blocks access to google as it should but still lets through youtube. This is driving me crazy so I have resorted to a keyword block on Impero to shutdown the window when the word youtube is typed. Harsh but fair I think . Any help please????
  6. You mean like you would use Lorem Ipsum text to populate a webpage? Edit http://generator.my-addr.com/generate_usernames-free_username_generator_online_tool.php may help but only generates usernames
  7. Not that I can find out at the moment. I think the phrasing above indicates that it won't be changed for a long time though
  8. OK official response from SIMS is. "The map option is hard coded and cannot be changed" (how do you ever change anything then??). However if you go into tools setups user options you can change it to streetmap.co.uk instead which does work but is an individual option. So each person will have to change it themselves (sheesh!!)
  9. I see what you mean. I tried looking to see if there was a change request on SupportNet but it doesn't appear to have been spotted by anyone else (although searching very rarely reveals what you are looking for on there :-)). We've requested the change here though as it does occasionally get used.
  10. Just out of curiosity what version of flash is it? It may need to be installed to all users I've just tested on one of ours with a student account and flash content will run in IE without elevation. I have got flash installed on my reference image but I can't remember whether this was what solved it or allowing some security settings in group policy
  11. Are you sure it's asking for an install or just permission to run? You can add flash to the list of permitted IE add-ons to remove the permission to run. I seem to remember getting something similar but run everybody on chrome now as the admx templates allow you to control it like IE.
  12. I redirected the appdata. This prevented it asking everytime. It does still ask on first log in. This gave another problem though with a security error when launching from the task bar but adding the unc to the appdata folder to trusted sites sorted that one out.
  13. That's a great resource thanks muchly
  14. could be permissions. The www folder and sub folders should be owned by www-data user if not you made need to set it right. chown www-data.www-data /var/www and also maybe a chmod +rw for the tmp folders
  15. I want all of that in my house. Can that stuff actually be done? If it can roll on that well overdue lotto win
  16. We have a load of Epson DC06 but I would say avoid these as they don't behave very well with auto-focusing after a while
  17. Even had to +rep for that, very good.
  18. If you want to use the group policy preferences section on your xp clients you will. If you are not thinking of using them (I would seriously consider it for printer deployment) then don't bother. If you move to win7 and 2008r2 you will have no need for it as it's included by default.

    I used a batch file and sims.ini to specify the install location for it to Program File whatever the architecture. ini [setup] SIMSDirectory=\\SIMS-NEW\SIMS\SIMS SIMSSetupsDirectory=\\SIMS-NEW\SIMS\SIMS\SETUPS SIMSDotNetDirectory=C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net [installationLogs] SIMSApplicationSetup.exe=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\SIMSApplicationSetup.log SIMSInfrastructureSetup.exe=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\SIMSInfrastructureSetup.log batch start /wait q:\sims\setups\simsinfrastructuresetup.exe -a {QuietMode} {SIMSWorkstation} start /wait q:\sims\setups\SIMSAMPARKSetup.exe /S {QuietMode} [sIMSDirectory]="R:\SIMS" [sIMSDotNetDirectory]="C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net" start /wait q:\sims\setups\simsapplicationsetup.exe /S {QuietMode} [sIMSDirectory]="R:\SIMS" [sIMSDotNetDirectory]="C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net" start /wait q:\sims\setups\simsmanualsetup.exe /S {QuietMode} [sIMSDirectory]="R:\SIMS" [sIMSDotNetDirectory]="C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net" start /wait xcopy Q:\SIMS\connect.ini "c:\program files\sims\sims .net" /y start /wait xcopy Q:\SIMS\SIMS.ini "C:\Windows" /y The install location makes no difference to the way the application works, it's only a folder after all.
  20. Not quite it seems as the fix was for the Volume Activation tool however this does give me a better starting point, thanks
  21. Trying to do a group policy model on a user to find out what policy a setting is in. All I get returned is An error occurred while generating report. An item with the same key has already been added. Tried searching these but all I get is something about asp.net which doesn't help with this. There's nothing in the event log. Anyone who can give me help on this?
  22. Thanks for that. Looks incredibly cool. All the old stuff back again.
  23. Red Dwarf all the way.
  24. No but my security setup was a bit convoluted so I'm now looking at simplifying by using OU's instead. Might have been easier to do this in the first place
