Hi I've been asked to look in to putting some large screen displays (the request was for TV's), to display power point and excel files with updating information etc. I've seen systems where they are controlled by central server and use the network to send data/images to the displays, does anyone have a recommendations/experance of them

No not really, I dont need to scan for IP address's , just check for enabled nic check I get a responce from a couple of address's and return sucess or fail. Its to run on XP and Win 7 would powershell do the job?

Hi does anyone know of a program that will do the following check for network cable connectect/enabled nic send X number of pings to a couple of address's return a value (0 if all ok or 1 if any of the above failed) It's to be called from a another program hence the return value. cheers

The computer policys arent appling on my wireless laptops (PCs fine) get the error is rsop.msc Group Policy Infrastructure failed due to the error listed below. The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. If i run gpupdate /force and rerun rsop the error goes away on a reboot of the laptop the policys dont apply and the error is in rsop again have tried wait for network and disabled slow link detection in the local policy Windows 7 laptops with 2003 and 2008 DCs (one of each) everything esle on the laptop is fine, pings ok and network shares all ok pulling my hair out...

Anyone one find a fix for this or aulternative software?

Ive seen a virus change the proxy settings to point the PC to itself, did some other strange things to...
