Hi all Does anyone know if there's a URL to logout of Smoothwall? I know you can get the the logout button by going to http://smoothwall/iclogin, but I'm wanting the URL to log out. We're wanting users on Chromebooks to be forced to login to Smoothwall by setting the default page to the logout URL with the username and password boxes. I've tried checking the code but can't see what the button actually does. Thanks!

We have Impero - but I don't have the client installed on this machine, I just use the console. Graphics drivers haven't been updated for ages - the laptop is about 5 years old. I'll have a fiddle and see what I can sort. Thanks for that. EDIT: Ok, I do have the Impero client...

We've got PCounter on the new domain - but TRUE appears for local printers too. I've spoken to the guys who support our PCounter and they said there's nothing setup to do that. It's just my computer that does it

Hi all I'm having an issue whereby whatever I print, on whatever printer I choose, I get the word TRUE (black capital text on a white background) in the bottom left hand corner: Paper, plastic, labels, big MFP, little car printer - it's there on all of them. Does anyone have any idea where it came from or how I can get rid? I'm running Windows 7 32bit on a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain. It's still on the 'old' domain so there's not another computer I can test with - I only mentioned that because it might be a group policy thing? Thanks for any help at all - I can't print off any staff passes at the moment as they all say TRUE on them. Tim

Tried - the only thing that changed was the "most recent check for updates" and "updates were installed" changed to "Never" There's no mention of PendingFileRenameOperations anywhere in that key at all on the workstation. See attached pic There's a FileRenameOperations key but there's nothing in it

No WSUS and no proxy

i all We have one machine that even after multiple reboots is saying "Restart your computer to install important updates". These reboots are happening every 10 mins or so with the machine logged off - with it logged on it gives the prompt in the lower right. I've tried a couple of Microsoft Fix Its relating to the update cache or something, but nothing has worked so far. The updates say "Pending". It's like it is completely ignoring I've rebooted the machine - of course because there's a reboot pending it won't check or install any new ones. Anyone got any ideas? I've Googled it but mostly find things relating to disabling the automatic update. The "date installed" keeps changing too - this has been going on since July but the date currently says 19/08/2014. Thanks for all the replies. The staff constantly use the laptops so they need to be able to use them. We've got a mixture of battery and charger issues. Some laptops turn themselves off without warning, some batteries don't charge (even with replacement batteries), some will only charge with certain chargers...I've replaced batteries and chargers. It's doing my head in! I'm thinking the way to go is getting a cheaper laptop and a dock. That way everything could be plugged into the rooms that need it and staff could just come along with their laptops and dock them to have everything working.

Hi all Currently we have about 20 teachers all with a Dell laptop. They're all about 3 years old now and are suffering battery/charging issues. It's time to replace. The question is, which direction do we go in? Currently it's a £450ish laptop (or was back then - probably a £300 laptop these days). We're using Google Apps a lot more than we did, but I don't think they're ready for Chromebooks. The other end of the scale is a Surface Pro 3 - only thing being with that is that all the teachers have a Nexus 7 for tablet-duties, so another tablet like device might be a bit of a waste. Another option is a laptop that can be docked easily - this would avoid the plugging in of power, projector, whiteboard and audio cables. Another way would be to have a NUC attached to the projector at all times, and get them a cheap computer they maybe wouldn't need to carry back and forth from home. Does anyone have any experience with anything that works really well? Thanks Tim

It was enabled. We disabled it and it started working ad expected. We've stopped the service via GPO but need to disable it as stopping the service alone didn't do it Edit: OK, may have spoken too soon

Found the culprit! Sync centre! Offline files! Just finding out how to turn it off now
