Our tvs have a 'no signal' standby mode that activates after the pc's go into standby. I've set scheduled tasks on the pc's to sleep and wake up at the relevant times and the tvs go to sleep when they get the screen blank signal from the standby operation. This works quite effectively and I also send a black screen to the signage for the odd occasion where this method fails. Our tvs are Samsung but I'm not sure of the exact model.

I got ID'ed in a supermarket in Ireland 2 years ago. I was with my wife and her two daughters 15 and 13. Fair enough I thought and produced my UK driving license. The girl on the checkout looked at it as if she'd never seen a driving license before and asked if I had anything else. I said no and that the card should be sufficient (I was only buting 6 cans of guinness anyway, did she really think it was for the girls). She ended up taking it to a security guard and they both looked as though they'd never seen one before, before telling me that it was no good. Wasn't too fussed as they lost the sale and I went into the newsagents next door and got the beer instead. My point to this is if you are working in a supermarket in britain (as my mum does) you are trained on what ID cards you can take (this includes EU drivers licenses) so why is there a double standard for EU countries not accepting a UK license. The girl on the checkout freely admitted that if it had been an EU license that would have been OK.

I've only just started buying the type of cars I want and not just those I can afford. There are limitations until you sign up and have been approved as an educational establishment. For us this took about a week but it could take longer depending on demand at the time.

I flash my phone all the time. Never came across any problems so far. I use an old LG Optimus to test some of the custom roms on. Currently have it running vanilla Android 4 (ICS) while I try and get the LG bits out of the stock rom to make the various things work (camera, wireless etc) Never really thought about the legalities of rooting the phone it was just a natural step when flashing the phone and necessary to get decent recovery software on it. I'm now looking at trying to get ICS on to my Galaxy Y. I don't think you will be able to do too much with your disco though. It got some pretty unfavourable reviews as I was searching for upgrade info. Doesn't look like it will go beyond the 2.2 version you have on it.

Never come across any issues but then again don't have macs. Inherited the domain name and don't really want to go to the bother of changing it. I would prefer if it wasn't the generic windows 2000 domain name (the old tech just accepted the default)

Can you get MDT to give you a list of OUs. I would like this if you could point me in the right direction. I currently have MDT placing new computers in 1 ou that then need to be moved manually. Don't make your domain too complicated. If you are not hosting the public facing web pages you can use a .local domain and if you do that just school_name.local will suffice. It also means that people won't get too freaked out by their pc telling them to log in to ABC.123.org Exchange will need different ports open depending on whether you want to use POP or IMAP plus whatever authentication to LDAP requires. If it bluescreened when installing the drivers there is a good change that the network card/motherboard is faulty. Try and reboot in safe mode and see if it remains stable but this is starting to look like something more serious than just a driver problem. Thanks @Geoff completely overlooked possible memory issue

Could just be a faulty usb cable in that case. Any damage to the insulation will cause a short which will reboot a computer (as our students found out by inserting locker keys into the front usb ports!)

Also if you don't already have them, install the debugging tools so you can read that memory dump file. It will give you the precise process and thread that caused the error and may help you track down the problem device How to read the small memory dump files that Windows creates for debugging

It won't really show up with a driver error as it's a memory allocation problem, just it's usually related to drivers. It may be worth checking the event log for common events that are occurring prior to the D1 error. It may help you narrow down where the problem is coming from.

A lot of the drivers on the motherboard are loaded as USB. As @Geoff says, could be network also. Look for updates to network drivers, bios, chipset. Unplug the external USB devices and reattach them one by one. You may find that forcing the os to reinstall some drivers will clear this error out.

If not the above it's usually driver related that one.

I'm going to put a spanner in the works here and mention eStreamDesk. Not exactly to your specifications but I use it here because: It integrates itself with google apps, staff get a link to it straight from their email. You can use canned responses to prevent those tedious repetitive 'Have you tried...' emails Does have an API to enable AD integration/SSO using email field of AD

This is worth looking at if you are not using the administrator account to share the calendar. You can change the settings for each org unit. I have done this to stop students sharing outside the school

Here are my settings. You can see that there is a box to tick to make public and the sharing setting for the domain. I notice it says primary calendars only but I don't know what this really means. Our school calendar is shared from the administrator account with office access to add/edit events

The issue here is not the whiteboard. We have some that are over 8 years old still working fine. I would say your issue is with the projector. You can get hd projectors and they will do what you want and be cheaper then a new whiteboard/interactive touchscreen thingy
