  1. There's a checkbox on the display clients to do with incorporating default display or something. I seem to remember that this needed unticking. My Xibo server is doing some maintenance at the moment ( official line I've given the staff in reality I screwed it up and need to reinstall )
  2. What issue is it exactly. I've not come across any issues relating to a need to disable UAC. Would be interesting to see if the issue you are getting we have used a workaround for (I have implemented a lot especially with software that says it 'requires' admin permissions)
  3. Definitely the V8 touring car for me. Holden preferably but the experience would be similar no matter what make.
  4. I've had this problem too. I can get it to work with basic authentication though
  5. Thanks (I know you Aussies get sarcasm)
  6. I always have something to keep me occupied in 'no problems' times. Update images for IT suites Try to configure windows deployment to use MDT 2010 so I can get some kind of zero touch installation going Clean projector filters in rooms that are empty. Ok I know they are all boring tasks but there shouldn't really be any time when you have nothing at all to do.
  7. Have you run a gpresult or rsop.msc on the computer after logging in to see if it is applied
  8. Any group policy's applied to the user. Windows 7 hates any xp policies to do with taskbar/start menu customisations
  9. Try this Event ID 57, event ID 55, and event ID 50 may be logged when you use Windows Cluster on Windows Server 2003 or this A Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) update package is available for Windows Server 2003 or this Your system stops responding, you experience slow file server performance, or delays occur when you work with files that are located on a file server or google for the events (that's how I got these) edit (I do think your hard drive space is an issue as well though)
  10. I need a way of finding a silent install switch for the software that came with our Epson ELPDC06 visualisers. The software is something from arcsoft which isn't too bad once it is installed but I have no intention of going around to all staff member and installing this manually when I'd much rather make a silent install script or msi wrapper. Anybody have any ideas when /? gives nothing /s runs but terminates before install. I can't extract it even though it tells me it's an installshield installer. I think I shall be pulling my hair out over this one unless I can get some help
  11. Think first of all whether this is the only solution as it could be expensive. Can you archive some files that are no longer used (we had stuff from 2003 in some subject folders that just wasn't relevant for the current curriculum)? Can you compress some files (.bmp files come to mind). Can you apply a quota or make your existing one stricter? Following this if you still find you are short of space then consider a NAS (Network Attached Storage) that has iSCSI ability as a cheaper solution than physically adding more HDD space into the server (Server 2003 does support this technology). If you do decide that the only solution is extra Hard Drives you will probably find that you'll need 3 Hard Drives and a raid card to keep the existing redundancy levels to prevent data loss.
  12. That's almost NSFW. @Fatmas: Have you got an inexhaustible supply of these?
  13. Should that one be tagged [Joke]? Oh no I think you were right first time!
  14. I've been waiting for something like this for ages. I hate IE with a passion but it was the only browser I could fully customise. I think a download and test is in order
  15. I don't think there is even a hint of racism there. No slur was made to the Chinese nation or Chinese people. Maybe a little sexist as it could just as well be a woman
  16. That is someone with way too much time on their hands. It's quite ingenious though.
  17. Have you ran a RSOP to see if you can find out where it is coming from? I have quite a few GPO's so trying to trace a problem is impossible without that tool. Try on local machines as well. If you log in run 'GPRESULT /U <> /H C:\GPReport.htm' and see if that gives anymore info
  18. "Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer\Prevent access to drives from My Computer"? There is also a "Hide these specified drives in My Computer" which is probably it as they can access the content of a drive when they specify it.
  19. What is the main purpose of this site? (Just information about the school or content management and displaying news of events) How much do you think it will be used? (Will every parent of current students be accessing or just prospective ones) Will it be used to host any learning content? (ILT's or homework/interactive exercises) Our site is hosted on a shared fasthosts server but I sometimes wish it wasn't as it can be very slow at times. We could really do with dedicated because of the content management system (Edugeeks own Joomla package) I have a personal site which is again shared but on just hosts running wordpress and is faster than the schools site. Uses CPanel which is very intuitive.
  20. Doesn't work with mine but only 1.6
  21. That has cheered me up no end. That is the funniest thing I think I've ever seen.
  22. Another famous one in norfolk is Happisburgh pronounced Haysborough of course!
  23. PSN: starstruckzombie (Don't ask why just three random words that go quite well together) Battlefield BC2 only at the mo but I'm sure I'll get some more eventually
  24. Here's my link. Movember United Kingdom - Home Latest photo is from last week but looks much the same Thanks
  25. Seems after a lot of googling I have finally found my answer The Lanmanserver service cannot start after you restart a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 if a volume that is referenced in the PATH variable is inaccessible Seems the problem was a custom path variable that I have on my login script that uses a mapped network drive and not unc path. Doh!
