  1. We have passed the specifics of this to MSFT, but the SPF addresses for spf.protection.outlook.com have not changed over night. If you're feeling brave you could add 'ip4:40.92.0.0/14' directly to your SPF record and check for improvements, while we all wait for MSFT to sort themselves out. Interesting idea about tenants getting compromised. That is one of the reasons stated for cloud based exchange being so much better isn't it.
  2. We have encountered a fun problem. Messages forward from one of our Tenants to another just get dumped as spam. What have we done wrong you may ask? Blocked? Blacklisted, Known spammer.......Well..... The specific error in the headers shows that forwarding from one O365 to another O365 breaks the SPF check. Received-SPF: Fail (protection.outlook.com: domain of xxxxx.org does not designate 40.95.78.85 as permitted sender) receiver=protection.outlook.com; client-ip=40.95.78.85; helo=GBR01-LO2-obe.outbound.protection.outlook.com; ...so it appears that the M365 sending service is using 40.95.78.85 as its address. So what? Well the spf.protection.outlook.com record that we all include in SPF records to white list the MSFT service addresses, currently unrolls (on mxtoolbox.com) to:- 40.92.0.0/15 - (40.92.0.0 - 40.93.255.255) 40.107.0.0/16 - (40.107.0.0 - 40.107.255.255) 52.100.0.0/14 - ( 52.100.0.0 - 52.103.255.255) 104.47.0.0/17 - ( 104.47.0.0 - 104.47.127.255) Bottom line, MSFTs own range of valid addresses for SFP does not include the 40.95.78.85 they allocated for our Tenant. Oops. Likely a typo as 40.92.0.0/14 would fix it, but its worth checking your mileage. Of course mxtoolbox.com may be lying.... and we may be imagining getting everything treated as spam.
  3. Yet another team member has developed such great knowledge and experience here that they are off to bigger things. The College is the largest state boarding school in the UK with 1300 students of whom half are boarders. As such the ICT infrastructure here is more complex than you will find in more mainstream state schools. The school is one of the top performing schools in East Anglia, and is where the Sapientia Education Trust has developed from. The Trust is now responsible for 12 schools across Norfolk and Suffolk, and is in the process off opening two free schools for primary students, one of which will have boarding for year 5 and 6 students. Needless to say, the opportunities for members of the College's Communications and Information Systems Support Team will be varied. http://www.wymondhamcollege.org/1177/work-with-us/careers/1098/senior-it-systems-manager Applications will be considered on receipt.
  4. This role is being re-advertised. The College IT support team has a very diverse remit, covering everything that has a plug on that requires come kind of configuration. The College uses no external support organisations to deliver its services so there is always some new area in which to develop your expertise. Norfolk is a great place to live and work and the College less then 15 miles (20 mins) to the centre of one of the nicest cities in the country.

  6. wymondhamcollege.org/Join/As-a-Member-of-Staff-48/IT-Support-Team-Leader-1857 Note: CIS is Communications and Information Systems: the College uses this to avoid any confusion with T&L related roles. The College is a Multi-Academy Trust and is in the process of planning the support and integration of partner schools with our family, so this role will take on a number of my operational activities. Good technical skills are a given, but broader thinking and a proactive approach to service improvements will be highly valuable. Norfolk is a fantastic place to live and work and the College is very unusual for a state school, being more like a medium sized hotel business. I hope some of you may consider this a good move and apply. In Norfolk, everything goes further, especially the sunsets! Good fortune to all who decide to take the challenge. Dave Tonnison Director of CIS Strategy Wymondham College
  7. The "Data Cleanse" would be rather handy in Facility itself given that long term users of it find that the Facility's data has a tendency exhibit entropy. To what extent are you expecting migrations to include historical data (previous addresses, changing relationships with contacts etc.) which is key to reflecting the full picture we have of a student? On a similar tack, Facility is only really able to show you the historical picture at year end for previous years since the audit trail does not record data changes, only some indication of who might have changed it. Over the years, we have had several reasons to investigate the past picture at a specific date, but have been unable determine anything definitive because of the existing limitations of the audit/logging processes. I'm more used to MIS systems that fully track field level data changes with who, what, when etc. Can we look forward to some progress in this area under Progresso?
  8. We will be re-advertising this one shortly because, as was always a possibility, the run up to Christmas was not a time a lot of people are job hunting, and we had too few applications from which to make a considered selection. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 26th January at noon. Dave Director of CIS Strategy.
  9. This approach to spelling a very common here, and is one method that people use to tell whether you're "local".
  10. That's "Windam" to all non-Norfolk speakers. One of my team is off to parts foreign (no, not just out of Norfolk), and as regular users of EduGeek (as lurkers if nothing else), here seemed the obvious spot to find people who might be interested in filling the role. Basically the role is for a Windows networks familiar CIS Technician who is skilled in multi-media applications and systems. We use "Communications and Information Systems (CIS)" because we're responsible for everything (Network, Phones (landlines and mobile), AV, Business Continuity, Data Protection, etc. as well as the core teaching and administration services) and so are differentiated from the teaching department. The College defines and runs all its own services, with minimal outside support , and therefore provides a very diverse environment in which to develop skills and experience. Full details are lodged on the College's main web site at http://www.wymondhamcollege.org/Join/As-a-member-of-staff-48/CIS-Technician-Multimedia-723 £17161-19126 per annum. Closing date is 7th Dec, so don't be shy. Dave Director of CIS Strategy
