A simple formula =(B3*60)+C3 multiplies the data in the minutes column by 60 and adds the seconds column to it. To get the labels I cheated as there were only three entries on my example and typed in the labels manually To do it with a formula you could use =B3&"m "&C3&"s"

Excel stores times in decimal format which can make it hard to work with when it comes to charts. By using the time format, excel is treating your 20mins and 30seconds as the time 20:30, i.e. 8:30pm. That's why the chart looks wacky. It may be easier if you work in seconds, not minutes and seconds. So 20mins and 30seconds would be 1230 seconds. you can always add labels to the chart afterwards to show the minutes and seconds if your intended audience have problems reading it. Something like this:

Are you getting no signal or a blank screen? Is Windows extending the display, rather than cloning it?

We're a large primary with 730 pupils and about 200 devices, including 40 iPads. We're on a 300Mb connection but we don't often top 100Mb. The Stormshield was definitely slowing things down for us before - it just didn't handle SSL traffic well.

We ditched the Stormshield when we moved to Darklight, but we went with our own UniFi Gateway Pro, rather than the Fortigate. It has its plusses and minuses but I like having full control.

I think you've answered your own question. If they've all got iPads already and know how to use them, then introducing an android (or other OS) device doesn't make sense. Stick with what they know, and what you know how to support/manage with existing MDM. Just tried it, got 5ms three times in a row. We're on 300Mb Darklight fibre. What happens if you ping their DNS?

So to clarify, this affects staff logins but you can login as a pupil on the same computer and it works fine?

Is this limited to specific users or specific computers? Can you browse to the location on the affected computers? Is your virus/malware protection up to date? Check the time of the computer is synchronised with the server - sounds odd but if they are more than a few minutes out the server may reject the connection and cause this kind of issue. You can add this line to the login script to make sure: net time \\servername /set /yes

Try Win 10 on one and see how it performs. Minimum system requirements are a 1GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM (or 2GB for 64Bit) so it may work.

You'll need to buy Client Access Licenses separately, enough to cover all computers in your school. If you're going virtual, you need a server license for every VM. I'd speak to a reputable supplier - there's plenty around on edugeek - to find out exactly what you need as MS do change the rules quite often. For starters, I'd get in touch with VeryPC @VeryPC_Colin_M for a new server, or ICT Direct @ICTDirect_Dave if you're OK with refurbished.

In a word, no. The batteries in the UPS are DC. The UPS takes the AC mains input and rectifies it to DC to charge the batteries. So you would be trying to convert DC from the solar panel to AC to DC which is a very inefficient way of doing things and you would need a very large solar panel to get anything usable out of it. You could connect the solar panel directly to the DC side of the rectifier built into the UPS, but that would require some electronics knowledge and detailed schematics of the Dell UPS. An interesting project though...

After years of leaving headphones glued into the PCs in the ICT Suite, we've gone the other way and now have no headphones by default. If the teacher wants the headphones they have to get them from the office. This seems to be going OK so far. Its not available in the UK yet At $499 its not cheap either, but if its as well made as their Phantom drones it will be worth it.

They do seem to have quite a high staff turnover, but I guess that's probably not uncommon in sales. Maybe its because they keep giving me such good discounts!

We did get a new license schedule from Sophos, I still have that email stored safely, however it doesn't list any source for Sophos Update Manager to obtain its updates from. http://sophos.yhgfl.net/libraryv5r2 obviously doesn't work anymore! So I'm getting an error code 80040401 - Delivery failed for software subscription 'Recommended'. Access to the source update is denied or the location is otherwise unavailable.
