We use XMA and its free, they send out the cardboard boxes for us to fill up and then we ring for them to collect when they full.....simple!

We all have that choice to answer or ignore until we actually get into work hours don't we and so the same goes for Teaching and other Support staff. Why should anyone feel pressured into answering an e-mail which encroaches on their own personal time? It is entirely up to the individual but I myself don't answer any mail outside of contracted hours no matter who from work it is from!!

@TwistedHelixis As @elsiegee40 has stated it is a matter of GDPR concern and you should also put this in an e-mail so you have written proof as HT seem to think they always know best in any situation and will try to brow beat any minion into submission, Stick to your guns

Hi Guy's, Update: Our Helpdesk and all the other legacy apps requiring email correspondence I have managed to sort, setup SMTP relay on 2 member 2012R2 servers and used a little known asp mail client (ASPEmail) to relay mail from these to the SMTP relays and bingo!!! all is well in the garden now, Thanks to all you guy's who offered sound advice, appreciated

Hmm! well I was once told that because schools don't pay the VAT or can claim it back then anything that is sold via the school is actually illegal due to this fact and that it can be given away as a charitable act (data wiped professionally) and a small donation to the school can be asked for. This happened as a result of Staff constantly asking if I could purchase them laptops and the like through the school, absolutely a No! No! as far as the VAT man is concerned. Things may have changed but I very much doubt it!!

@Michael On this note: The installer has the serial part disabled by default is there anyway to force both usb and serial to install silently at the same time?

@mikkydoos Having issues with Veeam myself, started off great, full backups taking a couple of hours instead of days with BE but then it has gradually started slowing down to virtually a standstill, have an open ticket and uploaded log files. We have a unique setup with our Hyper-V coupled with our Synology cluster and standalone Synology backup unit so I feel this needs tweaking, as for the notifications I have started receiving them again yesterday from the Synology units but not Veeam will look into it further when I have the time, if you find out anything let me know please and vice versa, have a good day

@mikkydoos Could it be that the office365 smtp server/s have tagged it as spam? I know this happens in Google with their smtp servers? currently having a similar issue with Veeam myself?

@limawhiskey Hiya, in answer to your question, I have always specified my own hardware when dealing with RM and they have always been fine with it, as long as it is setup properly then they don't complain. We are now fully virtualised (Hyper-V) and its solid as solid can be. I had to engage with outside companies due to the JRE which my new JD stated I could only assist with building infrastructure and I could only assist in building servers etc, so hence taking on SLA's with outside companies.

@limawhiskey We run 3 Dell R620s as hosts connected to 2 Synology RS3614xs+ units in HA cluster with another Synology unit for backups using Veeam on the hosts direct then from the Synology unit up to cloud storage for offsite backups. All in all for the Synology units and the setup cost was £20k the Dells we had given secondhand by a kind friend of mine @FN-GM thanks! Been running for the best part of 12 months now without a hitch, a company called Vital Service did the initial setup and RM just followed on from there. Absolutely solid and quick! Synology

@nicholab We have a 1GB bearer and we currently have 200MB up and down uncontested leased line from BT, best thing we did was move away from our LA. In 4 years we have had zero outage with BT yet when we were with our LA it was always going down especially when using online exams. Well worth it as you have room to expand especially with everything moving towards the "Cloud"

@RJohnson91 Came across this: https://xen-orchestra.com/blog/upgrade-to-xenserver-7/ I used to have a Xenserver cluster with shared SR which I always recommended people to setup with HA, served us very well for a good 8 years until we shifted to Hyper-V. If you could add an SR to the Pool that is the way I would go then you could move your VM's to the SR and complete as in the above scenario, anything will do temporarily as long as it supports NFS and has enough storage.

We have been using Synology for the past 2 - 3 years, I love the SSD caching feature so you can mix your drives, lots of other features too many to mention which are all fantastic, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase Synology over Qnap. @Nwaynebarwell We had troubles like this and if my memory serves me well one of my technicians uses a license fixing tool from adobe: Adobe - Adobe Licensing Repair Tool Don't know if this will work for you but its worth a shot. Also if you you are using Smoothwall as your proxy try watching the URL's that the application is trying to connect to when that user or a test user accesses Adobe products. Good luck
