  1. @googlemad PMd you
  2. 2 in sync mode for VM's and 1 for Veeam backups and the new backup app for the cloud to all major cloud storage repositories. First 2 have 4 SSDs in Cache mode with 8 x 8TB WD Reds for storage in RAID6 giving me 24TB for VM storage and the Backup unit has 12 x 4TB WD Reds which equates to 32TB backup storage. They working well for the past year, only had to replace one drive under warranty, fantastic units I feel for the price probably best value on the market.
  3. @3s-gtech Just had a look at my 3 Synology units too......................Intel Xeon chips phew!
  4. @Danp What Proxy do you use is it SW? Could it be that permissions have been set in FSRM? Deny specific apps from installing? Just throwing bits out there!
  5. @Danp Have you investigated the App deployment server events? Check the error code/s? As you state it looks like a specific app is not installing or cannot be found, have you logged a call with RM?
  6. @Danp The reason neither solutions work MS or RM is because the profile itself is classed as being in use as it is flagged up for being older than x days therefore it defeats itself as the flag has a date stamp of recent so its not reached the x time for deletion. I just use a batchfile similar to Delprof at shutdown to clear all the old profiles at set date and this works a treat. P.S RM's solution just uses the MS solution anyway so would reflect the same issue that MS solution has so it would be MS(Shudder!) just in case you have any doubts about RM systems not functioning properly as most of the problems are Microsoft's in the first instance.
  7. @abillybob Do they have headphones or speakers plugged in? This always used to be the case if there was no sound output device plugged in or recognised. Have you tried it with a test student account bypassing the proxy to see if it is the proxy?
  8. Same here
  9. We have 2 corporate wallpapers, one for Staff and one for Students so Staff can see at a glance if a student has obtained a member of Staffs credentials. Staff: Student:
  10. @dgsmith It does both, you can create a deployment package from exe's, msi's, batch file etc etc plus if you purchase the enterprise version £350.00 approx then you receive all the runtime packages free which are always kept up to date and its so easy to maintain your runtimes without having to go through the process of creating them from blue prints for CC4 or creating from scratch. Its well worth the money from my experience, try it for free first and see, you get 3 free deployments to trial.
  11. @howartp I was missing something then obviously! Sweet
  12. @howartp Why does your admin staff not create your CSV from within Sims? Ours does with the new starters and we just bulk import via the RMMC easy peasy! Why pay for something which can be done for free anyway? Or am I missing something here?
  13. @tj2419 CC4 utilises Postgres Database behind the RMMC which the AD is populated from so the answer would be no, to test this create a user account in AD manually and check the RMMC and you will see for yourself, If Salamander can write to the Postgres database as the RMMC does then yes not a problem it would work fine then
  14. All I can say is PDQ Deploy! Excellent product and true value for money with a UK software distributor! https://www.adminarsenal.com/
  15. We use it here and as far as I know our admin staff are more than happy with it, coupled with CRB biometrics it works fine once setup and configured.
  16. @talksr Have you tried Xenserver, I still have 2 of my Linux servers running as VM's on this Open Source Hypervisor and to be perfectly honest its absolutely solid and has been for the past 6 years, its free and you can purchase support if so required. I have had to move our estate to Microsoft's Hyper-V hypervisor due to JRE as we could not get the support we required from our LA, to be honest I find Hyper-V at best tolerable and finicky and to be quite blunt I'm not 100% trusting of it at the moment whereas with Xenserver I know it is absolutely solid as a Hypervisor. Not had anything to do VMWare and I know it can be quite costly if you want more than the free version can offer. Just my twopennies worth, have a look at Xenserver, install it and have a go, you maybe pleasantly surprised XenServer | Open Source Server Virtualization
  17. @3s-gtech This one any good? https://github.com/Azure/azure-docs-powershell-azuread/blob/master/Azure%20AD%20Cmdlets/AzureAD/index.md
  18. Couple of links here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/azuread/v2/azureactivedirectory https://onlinehelp.coveo.com/en/ces/7.0/administrator/installing_the_windows_azure_ad_module_for_windows_powershell.htm Are they of any help?
  19. A very Merry Mirthday!! @Soulfish! Have a great day! Wishing you all the very best
  20. @GuyJD Can you try to restart these services? What are their dependencies? Find out and try to start those as well if you haven't already, It does seem like a major service has failed to start due to other dependencies which require starting, start at the network services and take it from there. If all this fails then have you tried a re-install of Windows 2012R2 in recovery mode, it could be that your Windows platform has become somewhat corrupted and thus the services will not start.
  21. @GuyJD Which services are failing? Have you looked at the event viewer and does this give you any clues?
  22. @GuyJD I had a similar problem with Dell and it seems to be quite a familiar course with Broadcom NICs, my solution was to install the latest drivers from another company which had bought the rights to the hardware NICs, this is going back a while but it cured my problem. Anyway found this item which maybe of interest to you: https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/ProLiant-DL380-Gen9-NIC-Teaming/td-p/6677222 Also remember it was QLogic who provided the drivers: HPE Support document - HPE Support Center http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=7252838&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4168 Hope this helps
  23. Blocked here due to school policy! Even though the Art teacher implored our deputy head that she would make sure the students wouldn't access anything they shouldn't he stated categorically that they would not be allowed access due to the nature and content of the site. I just throw it back to safeguarding policy within the school and let them powers that be make the decisions based on the content of such sites.
  24. All the best for the future @X-13 Happy to see that your finally getting sorted, pleased your staying with the IT crowd as you would create a huge void in the universe, "Live long and prosper young man!"
  25. @JoeBloggs If he had an NVQ level 3 in IT then yes as his level of attainment and learning would be at a similar level but as he has a level 6 attainment even though its IT based makes no difference to transferable skills. Level 5 Leadership and management is what I would recommend as I have already done it after levels 3 and 4 and wished I had taken advice then and gone straight into level 5. Just my opinion like!
