Computing & MySQL - How have you got it setup?
foofighterjim replied to FN-GM's topic in Educational Software
So, first day of the controlled assessment after no issues at all during testing and.... Now happening for every user except root Spent the last hour searching for a solution but nothing I have found is using the same type of setup. Anyone else had this or have any advice? I'm a little out of my depth troubleshooting this one. -
We have an RM line with Smoothwall doing the filtering and firewall. I recall signing a change request to acknowledge that we were responsible for ensuring the filtering and firewall are working. If you are having trouble just speak to your account manager at RM, they are quite good at getting things like this resolved quickly.

Agreed, when I went on holiday this year I just left the 360 at home and went with my old analogue watch. It did get a little confusing only looking at my wrist to tell the time.

Only if they are from a reliable source. It could be quite the opposite otherwise.

I got a Moto 360 2nd gen in June and I absolutely love it. It fully completes your must have list and some of your like list. (battery lasts about 3 days, not sure about rooting can't honestly see the point). It does not have speakers so taking calls is not an option on it. As a side I wouldn't buy one right now with Android Wear 2.0 on the map for next year, I think there will be a lot of new devices out to take full advantage of it.

Youtube student access

Enabled for students but with safe mode on, comments disabled and auto play off. Same for the staff but without the safe mode restrictions. All done though Smoothwall. -

RM Inform is currently in field trial and I am one of the people currently testing it. I'm not sure how much detail I can go into about it here. Your final sentence is what it does in a nutshell but it does collect other data about the devices too.

I was about to say, with that in mind you have the option of the 1820 or the 1420. -

Not at all; there are loads of fanless 24 port HP switches, just use: HPE Networking Switch Selector | Hewlett Packard Enterprise -

I won't go into it but for us there was no option but to P2V, a clean install would have been the preferred route otherwise.

Yes, it went without issue. I converted it over a weekend in June telling staff it was down for scheduled maintenance. I powered down the physical server and spun up the VM on the evening and nobody mentioned anything on the Monday At the end of the week I told staff what had been done and got them actively looking for faults (I knew if I had done this straight off the bat an issue would have coincidently appeared because of the migration). I did a couple of test migrations first to get the method and see if there were any underlying issues with the original server. On one of my tests I didn't even stop the SQL instance and it all worked fine (not that I'm recommending it).

CC4 - WD My Passport Software
foofighterjim replied to superaz300's topic in Network and Classroom Management
There is a big difference between file rules and path rules. What you described is a path rule that will allow or deny files in a specified directory. A file rule will allow a particular exe to run no matter what the location provided the exe matches the name and version number. To create a file rule go to RMMC> Software> Software Restriction Policies. At the top of the main window you have two radio buttons to select path or file rules, for this instance you want a new file rule. Create a new allow rule, connect one of the drives and browse to the exe and then test. -

foofighterjim replied to superaz300's topic in Network and Classroom Management
If the drives are all the same type and use the same exe (name and version) then you should be able to create a file rule in the RMMC to allow it to run. This setting would apply to all users though, not just the teachers. -

Took loads of pictures on my recent tour of the Czech Republic, I have only gone through the ones taken at the Moto GP so far. Here are a few of my favourites: -
Completed Forza 6 career (I don't touch multiplayer) and all non DLC on Goat Simulator with the exception of Flappy Bird. Despite the reviews I'm currently enjoying playing White Night now.
