  1. I think you are right in the fact that it isn't actually a proxy, maybe I have misunderstood how this would work for internal address. In which case I am in the same boat as yourself and the OP. Is this of any help: http://wiki.lightspeedsystems.com/display/suite/Proxy+Server
  2. I think what Admiral208 means is that you would still need to add these addresses in to the bypass proxy server for local address list in the browser, as you would for any proxy type environment. Otherwise the browser will assume you are referencing an external IP.
  3. I have used it on an RM network and didn't have any trouble with it. I seem to remember disabling the auto update in the MSI took a bit of figuring out. One of the good parts is if you get your hands on some cheap wired Xbox 360 controllers you can use them to play the Kodu games. I remember the testing phase took a long time on that one, mainly because I kept playing all the games!
  4. I agree completely with your first two points but their hardware was well put together and well thought out. If nothing else this has restricted my options of buying computers I know will stand up to the rigors of the classroom environment.
  5. You have my sympathy; I got a lucky break but trust me when I say getting your foot in the door is the hard part. If you have the right attitude the education sector is a fantastic place to make a living.
  6. I wonder what this means for warranty replacements.
  7. Without trying to sound like an old git the fundamental problem is society in general. There was an instance a couple of years ago where someone committed suicide by jumping off a balcony in the Bullring (Birmingham). That on its own was sad enough but the number of people I then saw taking out there phones just to take pictures and videos was the part that truly disgusted me. Society has lost all of it morals, someone had died and all these people wanted to do was take pictures and show all of their friends. Many of these pictures ended up on Facebook and there were calls for them to be removed. I do not believe this was Facebooks job; it is down to those people who didn't have the common decency to not take a picture in the first place.
  8. When is a cable not a cable? When its un-terminated and untested cat5.
  9. <100m for cat5e, personally I wouldn't go longer than 80m. The key question is how much bandwidth is that one connection using? If you are getting 1gig to the switch and the 16 computers are sharing (effectively) 1gig of bandwidth then you should be fine. If it is 100mb to the switch then you will probably run into problems.
  10. Thanks Michael, that has made me feel much better about the whole situation. Like you said it doesn't look that difficult unless we get involved in SSO.
  11. Saw FireFly at BETT, I was very impressed. The only drawbacks I saw at the time were lack of Office 365 integration and they seemed very focused on iOS and not at all on Android. They may have made improvements since then though as they seem to be a very forward thinking group.
  12. Sorry to go off topic slightly but were Link2ICT helpful when migrating to Office 365? I am currently reviewing our position and I see no reason to stay with Zimbra. Do you have any details on the methods of migration?
